Dammit, RIGHT after I bought a set of third-party light buckets.

Oh well, I can still use my preferred LEDs with the third-party light buckets. I wonder if Traxxas has a good solution for transferring power from the chassis to the body shell without using a wiring harness that requires manually unplugging a connector every time you take the body off? I came up with my own solution for my other crawlers, but I wouldn't complain about a ready-made solution for my TRX-4.

Hmm. Maybe I'll just pick up the rock-light set, and see if I can figure out how to make them turn on automatically when switching into low gear.

Also, is there some reason I can't edit my previous post?

That looks like a good light kit. A lot of the companies making light kits now just suck.

Mine comes in today. Looks like a nice setup. Does anyone want pics of this when I get it?

In particular, I'd like to see if the LEDs flicker when you turn the steering servo. My experience with Traxxas light kits in the past has been that they do that.

They do not flicker when turning...a great thing. Why are pictures disabled in this thread? PM me your email and I can send you some. It's a good kit.

That's good. The lights on my Summit, and the original lights on my Stampede 4x4, were wired so the LEDs were connected in-series and they required more voltage than the BEC was supplying, so the slightest power drain from the steering servo would make the lights flicker. I rewired my Stampede 4x4 with each light connected separately with its own resistor to control its power usage, and that fixed that problem. I haven't rewired my Summit yet; I need to buy more resistors first.

Interesting!

Sealed waterproof design
• Engineered by Traxxas for direct fit on the Land Rover
Defender body with tidy and secure wire management
• 3-in-1 wire harness operates all lights with a single connection
between body and chassis
• Traxxas LED lighting module
- Regulated to provide consistent and reliable power output
with batteries from NiMH to 3S LiPo
- Eliminates overheating, glitching, and other electronics
issues common with unmatched aftermarket systems
• Integrated High/Low brightness switch provides two output
levels for the RIGID® Light Bar and the headlights

They don't flickér as wee. Awesome!
