no rush
that 3 hours of work can last you another year
it's better to do it right the first time

If you want a 414M don't get the 414 and upgrade to 414M. Go and get the 414M kit. the conversion cost around $1700. the 414M is around $2400 now.
Thaks Mars: I'll have to think this one thro b4 I decide!!!

I can't understand filing a chamfer on the two nuts that hold the T-plate on at the back. What is this mean??

If I remember correctly, you can get a few more teeth on your pinnion by mounting your motor using the screw holes on the same side and then filing a chamfer on the two nuts that hold the T-plate on at the back!

If you install the motor on using the screws holes on the same side of the motor and then push the motor as far back away from the spur gear as possible you will understand! If I remember correctly, the first thing to hit the motor can are the two nuts that hold the end of the T-plate. File a chamfer on these and you can push the motor back even further for a bigger pinnion!

I think the nearest thing you can get to a 'standard' 1/12 servo is the Futaba S132 (or is it S135??). Well at least that will be the cheapest 1/12 servo!

I bought a few several years ago for a Honey Bee Helicopter (which never flew) for $250 each. I'm sure the prices haven't changed much.... probably cheaper!

According to Associated you can use a normal size servo... only problem is that it takes up so much space that you have to use a mini everything else!
