No. I've seen shorts of his comedy on youtube but never watched a full stand up of his. Right now just saving money where I can.and preparing to move in a couple of months. The landlord definitiely pulled the rug out from under me, planning to sell when he did. If I could've rented one more year, I could save money and pay my credit card down. But buying a place now means I want really have the extra money because its going to a higher mortgage now etc. The unit I'm moving to while in better shape than the one I'm currently renting, needs work done as well. So I'll be spending money on that as well. While renting is piss money away, it has its pros. Things like maintenance and property taxes are the landlord's problem. But now as a home buyer, these things are my problem. But at least when buying, you're not at the mercy of the landlord deciding to sell and you no longer having a place.

Adjusting for the current market, If I chose to rent somewhere else instead of buying, my new rent would be the same as or higher than the mortgage I'll be paying. So at least now my money will be going towards equity instead of making some old greedy bastard rich. Outside of that, I'm just hoping there is no more deaths in the family for a while. I have a big family, so a couple funerals a year or ever other year is normal.

I feel your pain more than you would know. Last year, January 2024, my landlord told us we had to move because his kids wanted to move into that house. Our rent was smoking cheap at $1500 a month. Normal rent, for the same thing, would be over $3000. That's about the same as a house payment. So we started putting money together and looking for a house. Well, there would be about 1 or two houses pop up each week in our price range. There were dozens of people trying to buy a home, both investors and none investors. Interests rates were about 5% in January. We weren't able to get into a home until the end of April, 2024. By then, interest rates were 6.5%. So, we went from a mortgage of $1500 a month to $3300 a month. It's hurts so bad. That also happened at the same time both my kids needed braces, amongst other unforeseen issues. This is why I don't test new motors as often as I did before I had to move. It's hard for me to drop $130+ on a motor every month.

and that's why im sticking with my current living arrangements for as long as possible. while not ideal, you can't beat $500 a month. allows me to bank some money.

Offroad: That almost happened to me about 5 or 6 years ago, right before covid. My landlord had shortened my lease to a 6 month instead of a 1 year, to boot me sooner so his kid could stay there free while going to college. Luckily for me they decided to stay somewhere else and I didn't have to move. I didn't know you were renting before. I always thought you were buying your home. Are you still renting or buying the property you recently moved to?

I was going to buy a house, way back, but for $1500 a month, I couldn't pass it up. When interests rates were below 4 %, home prices were stupid. I didn't want to get stuck in a house where I would be upside-down by $100k. I wanted to stay in the rental until prices came down.
