TURTLETRAX Saturday 7/25 @ 2PM

This Saturday's club race will be at 2PM. Same as usual track opens at 8 and first qualifier at 2. I won't over water the track friday like I did this past weekend still trying to figure out how much to put on it at night to last til morning. Any way see everyone there.

Team Turtle 07-20-2009 03:58 PM

We had 23 entries last weekend 14 buggies 6 Slashes and 3 4wds. The group is growing every week. Lets keep this up heard rumors a couple more guys might be getting buggies.

K_Spec_RC 07-20-2009 06:29 PM

I cant make it this Saturday :( I have a wedding to attend...

cptxaggie 07-20-2009 06:54 PM

Cannot make it either, gotta get ready for a business trip to Minnesota to see the Cherrios people.

ALLERACER 07-21-2009 05:24 AM

Could someone please tell me what 30 degree caster blocks do compared to the stock ones. Does it give you more steering? Does it have more camber change turning?

FATKAT 07-21-2009 07:43 AM

More
More caster aids stability, and handling in bumpy sections.

Less
Less caster increases steering drastically.
Steering feels much more direct, the car turns tighter and faster.

Do a Google Search for RC Car Set UP Guide and you will find a world of information to confuse you even more;)

Hope this helps

more high speed steering. I tried them yesterday after the race and I wish I had done it earlier

Just to show the differences in the different buggies, I use 25 degrees of caster on the RB5. My car pushed really bad before I made the change. Also, caster is changed at the pivot block on the RB5. This means you have to take the entire front apart to change it. It is a good thing that 25 works on virtually all surfaces on the RB5.

I'm going to have a hard time changing my caster... I broke my block after the race durring practice  I found out that there is a high spot in the last double you DO NOT want to hit... lol Took out my front suspension mount, inner hinge pin, and arm... :weird: oh well, that's racin'

Rfury 07-21-2009 12:53 PM

I knew you were trying to break it.

Thats it blame it on the track. I suppose you tell me I put that pipe in your way too:ha:

K_Spec_RC 07-21-2009 03:10 PM

Of course it was you, I sure as heck didn't put it there :D

btw, the Turtle Trax decals are printed and cut. I should have them by this weekend. I will have to find a way to get them up there to you. Maybe I can meet up with Adam at wolf camera or something? We'll figure it out.

Yes they are slow this week.... I ordered a few things Sunday night and it was just shipped a few minutes ago. They are normally a lot faster.

His buggy was the one of the reasons I went with pink. I didn't know how it would look and once I saw how good it looked on his buggy I knew it was the right color. Plus it is easy to see on the track.

Also if I get my stuff in time and I can make it to the race on Saturday. Does anybody have some room underneith thier tent for me? I just need a place to set my stuff down out of the sun.

K_Spec_RC 07-21-2009 07:29 PM

you are welcome to my tent and table if you want. I wont be there this weekend. It's under the driver's stand, just ask Gene and he'll point you in the right direction.

31794ty 07-21-2009 08:26 PM

Looks like I won't be thier now... Stupid Fed Ex just changed the delivery date from the 24th to the 25th.:flaming: Oh well something had to go wrong as this buggy was coming together way to smooth...

mxrich 07-21-2009 08:55 PM

This might actually be my day! Even better since Keith won't be there! Just kidding :D If I can make it I'll bring Clayton to race also, I've got and old goldpan with his name on it. Finally!

I saw that it looks cool. But you have to run a saddle pack. And your speedo has to be able turn in reverse.

31794ty 07-22-2009 11:43 AM

You could just switch the 2 out side wires around and it would rotate in reverse.

Also I got my body today and it looks awesome. I will get some pictures up soon.

K_Spec_RC 07-22-2009 01:17 PM

you would have to have a sensorless motor to run in reverse ;)

ChadRacing 07-22-2009 01:56 PM

Actually the company Atomic Carbon makes 2 versions of that conversion. They make a LHD and a RHD. SO you can still use the same motors and esc you have now. Just have to make sure you get the right kit. I read up on this conversion :D

31794ty 07-22-2009 02:25 PM

Heres some pictures of the body mounted.

Racing Saturday @ 2PM

Remember this weeks race is Saturday at 2PM. I am gonna make some changes to the track on Sunday or Monday. Tweak a couple of the jumps and change a couple completely. I think it will keep things interesting so you guys don't get bored with the same old layout.

Oh Great!!!
Will this mean I'm going to have to start chasing another set up?:lol::cry:
I think I'm on to something now but keep breaking parts :cry:
From all the broke buggy's I seen last week I think many others are still working on the current layout :lol:
It don't help that two guys show up to run off road in lord knows how long and run borrowed vehicles and kick all our butts.
Boy if I hadn't broke my buggy I could have shown them a thing or two :lol::lol:
I got some spare parts now so maybe with any luck?!?! well we will see :D

The same set up will work. I am only gonna make the track flow better and fix some of the jumps that don't work just right.

cptxaggie 07-23-2009 05:44 PM

Ohhhhh.....so the jumps didn't work right, dang, I thought it was me. :D

ALLERACER 07-23-2009 05:56 PM

Maybe I wasn't trying hard enough last weekend.....I didn't break anything:lol:

FATKAT 07-23-2009 06:03 PM

After I found that little slipper issue with mine the jumps aren't any trouble as long as I don't blow the run up to them. Even the double coming back at the stand is no trouble now nor the double at the end of the switchback in the middle.
I believe the trouble I had before was just getting through the turns coming to the jumps. The car is a lot easier to drive now if only I can keep it off the pipe.
I am looking foward to saturday to try my hand at the track again and see how the car works.

Randy Nukem 07-23-2009 06:16 PM

Well I hate to say I'm going to miss this weekened. I have some other things I need to do. I'll definatly be back next weekend, have fun guys.

FordGT40 07-23-2009 06:43 PM

I won't know until Saturday if I'll be able to make it or not.

31794ty 07-23-2009 07:54 PM

Fed ex says my package will be here tomorrow so if it is, I should be there on Saturday. :D
