I got started sometime in 1987 with a Kyosho Plazma. It was Ft. Myers FL in a mall parking lot. I wanted to run 12th scale because they ran for 8 minutes instead of 4.
Shortly after that I got a Tamiya Lunch Box. Then an Associated 10L that I ran at Big Boy's Toy's in Punta Gorda, FL. An hour or so up the road was my first carpet racing at Jay's RC in Bradenton. Ran that 10L at Whippoorwill in Orlando a few times. Got DQed once because my fancy $80 magnesium wheel hubs put me under weight.
Got a Clod Buster to play with and ended up using that as a trade in towards a 1:1 Mustang.
Some guys started oval truck racing in Venice with that new Losi JR T truck. I remember hacking my Lunch Box with a Blackfoot adjustable motor mount to try to keep up. I still have that motor mount and the Joel "Magic" motor, wish I still had the Lunch Box.
All the tracks closed up and I took a many year break. I brought the old wide 10L back to life sometime in late 90's at University Speedway in Sarasota. Decided that 19turn 4 cell wasn't as slow as I thought is was going to be. Moved to my 1st HyperDrive.
It all comes around..... last year a friend was cleaning up his dad's place and found the truck he used to play with while growing up. He new I "still played with toy cars" and thought I might like it. Damn if it wasn't a Mauri Big Bear.

Mine was the electric Traxxas Rustler. It wasn't long after seeing how slow i was compared to other cars that I stepped up to the HPI RS4 MT. I sold it off and have regretted it every day since. So I am still looking for the guy I sold it to so i can see if he still has it.
