Not to really hijack the thread, but if you guys are looking to get your carpet stuff together (both on-road *and* oval), there's a big carpet weekend coming up in August in Clearwater, by the same guys who bring you the Snowbird Nationals every year:

http://snowbirdnationals.yuku.com/topic/3656

Planning on a 'big' oval race this summer:

"We are having an oval race August 21 and 22 at Minnreg is sunny Clearwater, Florida. The plan is 3 heats starting Saturday afternoon/evening... with the track open for practice late Saturday night... then a 4th heat and main Sunday. Plan is to be starting mains before NOON so out-of-towners can make it home early. Working on B-main bump-ups maybe too!!! More details for sure. And we can't setup until LATE Friday night so as it is now no need to miss work Friday as we can't get in on Friday. Doors will open Saturday 6am and we will have at least 9 hours of practice before the 1st heat! OH and Bristol is Saturday Night!!! PARTY at MINNREG oh yea... going to be a blast! More soon! Spread the word. This is going to be HUGE. Pretty much same classes as last race."

MORE SOON!

Ahhh OK...cool!

So this should be a *quality* facility, then?

Man, I sure hope I can make it over there once this place opens!

One other suggestion/thing I'd like to see as a "local" class for the oval guys: a 17.5/1s open ESC/open battery "Late Model" body type class, so we have some place to use the new McAllister ASA Camaro and Mustang bodies

who said any one was scared to run mod, onroad is just getting by with the classes they have,12th always been there but slows down,vintage/rcgt locally dead, why make a class that has been run in the past and will not be there in a few months,13.5 everyone has one locally.i will pick up a mod motor to also use in my tc so maybe steve m,marcos and a few others who like to run mod may run mod tc.dont turn this in to a pissing match i like to go fast as much as the next guy, this is just my 2 cents

It's great reading all this stuff about guys runing 1/12th mod and mod on road.Where have you been all these years when the series came to town? There's more to going fast down the straights and guess what the straightaways on the indoor carpet track aren't as long as you think. Can't wait to make the long trip down there to race. Especially to see the mod racing.

I have not read or seen any mention of what the tire additive rule will be. I would like to stock up so to say. So with odor or with out?
I have been racing gass cars on and off all these years.
