Skiddins.... on my 18 t4 CF, I've got some high speed understeer (USGT) grey carpet, mostly stock suspension except for X-ray front progressive springs 2.3-2.6, 2.5 in rear, added a another 1/2 mil shim for ackerrman, would like the front tires to bite a bit harder? Have a frt. gear diff w/diff putty, 5K rear, stock sways, almost all screws down the centre (sans one), no CF centre brace... any thoughts? Bigger front sway, lay down front shocks another hole?

How much are you guys cutting off the end of the shock shaft to get the "ideal" shock length?
#681
Laying down front shocks will certainly help. Larger sway will not. You need to let us know what configuration your front suspension pills are oriented so we can determine your current roll center. if stock dead center, id drop them .5 at a time till you get your desired front traction. possibly even narrow the front track too. 2.6 in the rear would help too.

The nomenclature and marketing strategy changed down the road. Hence why after XB9, they went back to XB8.
Many times, many factory racers have explained here and other threads that they won’t be in the near future a T5 due to their marketing strategy. They prefer to update the year and make small adjustments to an already working base.
It is was has been working for Xray and will continue the path until they find it no longer works for them.

Well additionally in the past the model jumps were for large design changes. The original T4 was a very drastic departure from the T3, and so forth. While the T4'13 shares almost nothing with the new T4'18, it's more just a compounding of smaller changes and tweaks over the years, rather than one massive redesign. The car could currently be a T5, but there wasn't a very definite moment it departed from T4. Two largest changes to the T4 platform to me would be the suspension mounts between 13-14 and the ULP shocks on the 18. But I'm fine with keeping it as a T4 '20xx

Also, what upper link shims are you running?
I would also remove some of the center line screws (motor mount plate I assume) and possibly just use the screw with nut.
Harder rear springs
I've never run USGT as such, so I don't know if there's anything specific for those tyres etc.

New rear suspension arm holders
Has anyone tried the Xray new rear lower suspension arm holders (#303722, 303716, 303717)? Are they performing as advertised?

Still quite a few months away, but what sort of changes - if any - would people like to see to the ‘19?
been a little while since any shots of actual race cars (as opposed to specific photo cars) with the shell off have been on social media or the like too - which *may* mean prototype stuff is being run.
For me;
- Still want the steering fixed. Hate the slop. Want to try the Lunsford screws hagberg has been using. But that won’t help the slop in the bridge
- Get rid of the floating steering from the kit. Having the floating “ears” on the servo plate just makes access harder. Not hard to fix with a dremel though!
- Need tape free battery mounts - or at the very least 7075it style where you don’t need to wrap tape under the chassis. So many people are making their own and numerous kits have this (good) feature standard. Time for Xray to get on board.
- adjustable body posts to the front. Hell, I’d be happy with different lower plastic bumper mounts or optional offset posts. Need a way to move our bodies forward/backward rather than owning multiples of the same body mounted differently. The rear posts are easy to move - just space them out. The front needs a little innovative thinking. Just as Mugen have with eccentric posts.
And.....
- Want to see a black racers edition. Celebrate 10yrs for Hagberg on the team! Chuck in his favourite options. To offset some of the extra cost of the black anodising and options, don’t worry about including any springs, sway bars, spur gear, oils/greases or any ARS plastics. Everyone serious has their own anyway. Could also do away with the factory screws to be honest. Never use them either!
an area I think could perhaps be looked at is the C hub - is the path VBC/Mugen have gone the way to go? Or is the chub still the superior solution?

This is what I was talking about.
Long story short, my T4 2018 has a lot of hop ups. and I am thinking of building another one. But don't want to replace the hop ups if the car is changing drastically, (like when the T1FK became the T2, or T2 became the t3 or t3 became t4. I am talking about things like ceramic bearing kits. I will make due with what I have if it is changing. If ti is staying similar like it has for a few years now I will get new option parts for the 18. (which I would not expect to change if the car is staying a T4.) I guess I should have used the term "major changes" instead of T5
