I had this too. Solved most of it by going back to the kit setup, a bit more front toe out and reduced the rear droop.

I finally got my M07 to the track.

Completely factory setup, on black carpet.

The only thing I can say, is that it could use some glued sidewalls to help with the overturning. But the factory springs are soft enough that there's plenty of body roll, it's collected through corners, the oil filled diff means the car doesn't completely diff out once the corner starts.

color me pleased.

The kit tires from this: https://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radi...zda-mx-5-58624

Sadly, I can't find "a name" So I suspect they're whatever is less grippy than the M grips.

if you're running the kit tires, they are harder than the M-grips and S-grips.

try standing the front tires up more (less camber), I've seen cases where people have suggest that and it seems to help

...what diff' oil are most of you using?
I run on asphalt medium grip. Ran 500k at first ..but was waaaaay too stiff, so went down to 100k which seems about right, yet I am losing a bit of speed (it was faster -but less stable w/ 500k). I am now at about 300k yet haven't run it yet ...now second guessing that may be too stiff and 100k may be the best bet?

Curious where you all settled, -thanks.

Most of the Mini Mafia at Tamiya Raceway second-guessed the manual during construction and used 300,000 or 500,000 wt. in the diff, all undoubtedly influenced by the M05/M03's liking stiffer diffs. But the M07 didn't want go straight down the straight, and was quite difficult to drive. Reverting back to the kit 100,000 wt. made them much easier to drive, even if a little "dig" was lost coming out of some corners.

I did the exact same thing!

I experienced the same thing.

...okay, thanks ...I think i'll go back to the kit 100k then.

I went down the same route but for a carpet set up, went 500K in the diff and the car was terrible, kept loosing the back end on tighter corners and twitchy down the straight.
Changed to 100K (PITA getting heavy diff oil out of the case, tips on how to do it properly greatly appreciated ), way easier to drive but I found that the M07 freewheels better than the M05 so it doesn't turn in as well off power, so I kept running wide on the first turn after the straight.
Anyone with suggestions on how to set up some sort of drag brake with the TBLE-02 ESC ?

I just take my diff apart, lay out all the pieces on my table and let them sit for a full 24hrs, the heavy oil flows off the parts. I wipe the table and the pieces and repeat ...usually after about 2 days most everything has flowed off and I can just wipe down the rest. ....but since I work full time and have wife and kids and am busier than (insert whatever you want here) ...I have time to let the parts sit while I am at work.
hope that helps? -I don't know a quick way or any solvent if that is what your looking for.

M07 is the first mini I've ever had to experiment with drag brake. Before I was always setting the idle UP so the M03/5 would roll through corners better, but the 07 is reacting much more like a real touring car.

Edit: Naah. At our big track, all drag brake accomplished was to slow the car down and increase lap times.

went to my local track black crc carpet

mostly stock with some hop-up built for silver can racing

m-grip with medium foam
4.5mm ride height
1 Degree toe in the front stock rear
stock camber
stock diff oil
shock oil with 3 hole piston
sxt tire traction

went 16.9 fastest lap

glued the side of the front tire for less rollover
set the ride height to 3.75/4mm hard with the stock clip
0 toe on accell stock rear
1degree fr and 2 degree rear of camber
35wt asso shock oil
sxt tire traction

went 15.8 on my fastest lap and many low 16

will try 500k in the diff the next time and i will have trf big bore shock also for easier ride height setting and maybe the swaybar kit

since the track went from a crappy carpet to the crc i can tell if my m07 is faster than my old m05 pro r that i had
