Will 21.5 Brushless be the new stock?

I would not be upset if stock in offroad was 21.5. Need to get people to put on their big boy pants and move up to mod. If stock was slower I think that would happen more often.

Ok, let me qualify that statement. Outdoor off-road stock is almost non-existent except maybe in a novice class. But even at the indoor facilty near me, most run a 13.5 or faster.
I really don't see how going to a slower motor in off road is a good thing. When I ran my 22 with a 6.5, it wasn't (or didn't seem) much faster than my 17.5 touring car.

The SC wars happened in the beginning as people were starting to figure out boost. Everyone kept their formulas to themselves to hang on to that advantage. Now that we know what to do, and most SC's have programmable boost, there's no real advantage any more. And blinky has pretty much killed off any SC evolution.
Which brings me to a point, why isn't there an open SC class? I understand blinky for slower classes, but in expert classes (like mod) you should be able to do whatever you want with the SC. It would be similar to engine mapping.

If one were allowed to run in non-blinky mode would that lessen the gap for a cheaper motor versus a certified motor? Say for 21.5 or 17.5?
