I predict the T4'17 will actually just be a T4'16 in a new box with a picture of Bruno holding his world championship trophy on it.

At least we know it will come with clearly labeled and organized parts bags. Also includes an easy to understand and highly detailed full color instruction manual with setup & option info.

would be great if they change to slightly longer shocks, to fit f.e. Yokomo springs too.
Gizmo is using Shocks produced by Xray (I think I read they are from the NT1) they are slightly longer so most springs fit. Or the WRC has the same, that would be great :) |
They've already announced the name - T4 2017. To me, that implies that it will NOT be a completely new car, methinks it'll be another new chassis / motor mount mated to the existing T4-series suspension pieces.
|
For sure it's going to be very minor. The car is the fastest around at the moment, so no need to change much. I keep hearing about the hammering of conventional cars, but I have yet to see an unconventional car win something major.
My tip is lowered layshaft holders with shims or a small part on top so that you don't have to shim the whole top deck. |
i would also like to see .75 suspension inserts for more precise toe in options. that's it for me :tire:

Aluminum chassis and narrower servo mount for shorty servos would be nice.

Considering Bruno and Alex have been at the pointy end with basically kit standard cars with very few (and then only subtle) prototype parts *and* money no object (almost) infinity drivers such as Jilles are running T4's by choice suggests it definitely won't be a revolution.
Definitely think we will see Carpet and Asphalt editions - the XB2 has set that trend for them now and sold well. Would be nice if the asphalt one comes with a graphite chassis that is backward compatible and includes graphite plastics cause a) my graphite chassis is quite worn and b) I don't need another set of std plastics I won't use :) |

I'm hoping eventually Xray goes and make a unconventional designed car and sets itself apart from some other manufacturers . It seems lately that the conventional cars are being hammered and something needs to be done to address the imbalance .
IF XRAY would do that, I don't expect it would be called the T4, but that it would be a new number in the range. |

Because you have seen Bruno's and Alex's cars? You are very lucky so...
For example, note the servo mount. The alloy has two keys into the carbon as well as the three screws. Subtle difference, which won't effect it much - but something we might see on the new car, with a whole paragraph about how it prevents tweak and is super important to have :D http://site.petitrc.com/reglages/xra...16072224/2.jpg |
maybe this time we can change the chub backwards and it will increase steering
