Obviously tweaking the car corrects the weight balance at the wheels, but it was just a thought, i.e. would the EVO III have handled even better if the weight was evenly distributed.

Mark : Yes it would handle better.
Now with a shaft drive, you can't have a centered motor, so a saddle pack would have an even worse mass balance.
The car is very light (the surikarn edition at least), so balancing your car to put it a the legal weight is the best solution.
The square servo stay, with the transponder mount integrated is a real help in balancing the chassis aswell.

Silly me, forgot about the shaft affecting the position of the motor

Btw, can anybody give me the link of Square? I just find a bunch of shops, but would like to know the manufacturer's site.

In Japan the drivers must run stick packs for a lot of their races!
Saddles not allowed.
That's one reason for a lot manufacurers to go this way.
Alaso for every starter is is possible to use their sticks with a top-of-the-line racer.
For fanatic racers (as most of us here are, me included) saddles won't be a prob.
As for weight distribution, most cars nowadays are pretty well balanced with GP3300's and small electronics.
As for the tc3, that's been developed a while ago, thus having a balance problem now.
This could also happen to some of he cars released nowadays, in the future?

also i just got hold of the first edition Kai chassis for the Evo3. Does it actually add any performance enhancements or just a show thing... is it worth running?
