Awesomatix Parts Availability?
I recently got in into Awesomatix and got two A800X cars for asphalt racing. I find that getting replacement and upgraded parts are extremely difficult. Parts are scattered across continents and if you find them, there are only a few items with limited quantity at each site.
Are parts being broken that easily and that is why there is a constant shortage or Awexomatix is NOT on par with their part support?
I've talked to a few local drivers that own Awesomatix and those that have moved on and they have agreed that it is hell for them to get parts. They phrased it " Awesomatix is Problematix" when it comes to getting parts.
I also find that the sponsored drivers have no problems with getting whatever they need. Is this a fair competition?
Can I get an Awesomatix rep to address this please? Not just to me but to all Awesomatix owners that are going through this experience!

Where are you located? Awesomatixusa.com does a good job of keeping parts in stock.. nothing is ever out of stock for long. The best way to have parts locally is ask you local shop or track to stock parts.

I've temporarily stopped running Awesomatix (still have an A700 that I retired but may rebuild for VTA). When I did race it actively (two A700s in 17.5 and 21.5), it sucked getting parts. I know hanulec is reading this but having to order Awesomatix parts often was a major drag (ordering one item, but out of stock on the other. Then needing to place another order when its in stock) Within a short timeframe, I've ordered from at least 3 or 4 different places that sold Awesomatix parts to get what I needed.

The new A800 evo does have my interest since I genuinely do love the way the cars handle, but....I don't know....still on the fence. =/

Sure it's kinda annoying having to order parts from Awesomatix direct, Michael's, and TQRC but in the year and a half I've been running Awesomatix I've only broken 1 hub and a body post.

I will be happy to reply as an average Joe racer, not sponsored, and not a rep of Awesomatix. Sometimes parts are out of stock. Have this same issue when I order Tamiya parts as I run TCS also. Same goes for other brands. I know what parts I damage and I don't have a problem buying some spares in advance before I break them. If a person wants to wait until they break a part to get a replacement, you will run into out of stock issues no matter what chassis you run. I order from TQ RC Racing (my local track) who usually carries a good inventory because there are a lot of people running the chassis in So Cal or I buy from Awesomatix USA. As for broken parts easily, I break less on my A800a and A800x than I do on my 419X and I run on small indoor carpet and outdoor tracks. I don't have a problem with spending money to have some spare parts for a car that is over $ 1,000 when you add up the cost of motor, receiver, servo, esc and transponder along with the chassis. However, some people do and then when they cannot get a replacement part immediately, will complain.

My issues at the time were more of smaller maintenance items that I eventually stocked up a decent inventory on (driveshaft parts, diff, shock o-rings, foam, etc, few upgrades here and there, etc). The car itself was durable enough for me, I didn't break much. Which is fine since I knew what I was getting myself into at the time with a more niche car. There are just longer waiting periods to get your parts because 1) there are not many Awesomatix vendors to begin with and 2) not all of them carry a large supply of parts. They seem to trickle in and you have to plan ahead more and spend more. Sometimes they're in stock, and gone the next week. Yes, as a smaller business, I can understand not wanting to carry a large inventory for a car that has a smaller market share.

I would not even compare the situation to Tamiya, where you could get parts from so many more vendors and can get it much quicker (I've owned a TRF418 at the same time and many, many other Tamiya cars). Do I still prefer driving an Awesomatix? Oh hell yes... returning to the new A800 evo is very tempting..

Are parts sometimes out of stock? Yes. There is something that Mike does (at his own cost) that no other team does.....Mike brings two tubs of parts to races so that nobody is without a needed part. I can remember years ago, when I ran another car, the importer not willing to supply me with a caster block (on site shop didnt have) that I opened the request with "happy to pay for." You will not find race support better than Ax USA.

Parts availablity in early 2018 was bad. For example, we went to Snowbirds with only the spare arms found in my personal parts box.

Since May 2018, after working with Max and Oleg, parts are now in greater supply considering we had a 1.5 year old car. I only see a positive swing of parts availablity....

Mike does as good if not better than anyone in the country at having what racers need and stocking parts.. When he is out of stock I have a very hard time believing its because he hasn't exhausted his resources to get them. Customs can delay things way past the scheduled date. I've ordered plenty of Roche and some awesomatix parts and service has always been top notch

I have been thinking of placing a backorder for the new evo. What replacement parts would everyone agree is a must to have in my pit box? When I crash my R11, If I break, it will be the usual castor block, steering hub or arm. Thanks for the advice!
