Smile 1/12 Pan Car Gearing

Hi all,

I'm a newbie to 1/12 pan car racing, and I have built a Tamiya RM-01 chassis and am wondering if you could advise as to what 64dp pinion and spur I should use with a 10.5 brushless motor (sensored).

Thanks very much

That answer will depend on:

- What motor
- What size tires
- Your track size

Everything nowadays is done with rollout and/or final drive ratios. This is so you can calculate the gearing and maintain the same ratio as tire size changes.

No point in covering the theory and calculations here since this thread does it all very well:

As for what a 10.5T target would be - I'd ask a local hotshoe at your track what they run.
