First the tires and rims have to be tested. Secondly the rules we followed at the Snowbirds have been changed to GT Racing USA. Facebook page is being worked on. The rules have been changed to : 960 grams, any ROAR legal ESC with either a booster. or reciever pack, pinions 42-48, any GT body that has been raced in a current GT Series.
As soon as we get the tires and rim we will test on CRC carpet .

Spec 175 GT was the highly successful Expo class run at the Snowbirds in 2015. Their rules have not been changed to GT Racing USA. GT Racing USA is a class created by Bill Fraden ("BullFrog") with its own rules and is not in any way affiliated with Spec 175 GT.

To correct Dave- it is basically his older rules with a few minor changes - following what the racers wanted to follow. I had plenty of help with our rules and making it once again a fun class to race. Most everyone in Florida are following our rules for the class -Southeastern Pan Car Nationals.and the Florida State Series and the USVTA Nationals to name a few.

Is anything in the Spec 175 GT rules that are not allowed by the GT Racing Rules?

Goodbye.

The biggest difference is in the ESC's. We allow ANY ROAR legal ESC. If they need a booster or receiver pack it is legal. We opened up the body list to include any GT body racing in a GT series. The WGT bodies are not allowed.

Are the tires the same compound? Are inserts required? Are the tires similar to the cap tires that are used on concrete banked ovals?

The front and rear are two different compounds. Yes inserts are required, and they will come with them.

These tires are nothing like the cap tires. They are more like F1 tires.

NICE JOB from my fellow Romans !!! This might get me to commit more to oval racing and pan cars in general. This is a huge opportunity for the pan car community to grow.

About a week or two. We just need to iron out a few things.

The cars have performed fantastic on these tires!

If I'm not mistaken that footage was taken at 5280, have these new rubber tires been tested anywhere else? Wondering how thay will perform in lower grip levels.
