+1 :D

Overall I like my wgp better than any of the other f1s on the market but i have found the t-bar options to be lacking. Compared to my spring cars the wgp is as good or better in most conditions but in specific carpet situations its is lacking. Now that everyone else is running link cars it has become obvious where each concept out shines the other.

Have you tried any of the 3rd party t bars for F104 cars? Just wondering since I don't run my WGP outside of TCS races as much as other cars, but I have some of the 1 piece t bars 3 racing (i think) makes in different thicknesses that I'd like to try.

The New updated T-Plate designs offers overall increases traction compared to a Link-Type set up. That's straight from the Tamiya Product Development team.

The T-Bar provides a progressive roll damping effect superior to that offered
by the spring-actuated side links on the TRF101. The roll point ball has been
placed in as low a position as possible, in order to maximize damping effect.... 2 thicknesses of T-bars (planned as 1.5mm and 1.8mm) will be included with the kit.

The brand new pitch axle gives vastly improved, independent pitch damping,
letting the chassis deal much more smoothly with undulating surfaces.

The roll damper has been moved closer to the lower deck, giving a more compact rear and contributing to the chassis' low center of gravity.

I have images of how all this works, but I can't show them just yet. Sorry. Strict confidentiality agreements and all. :D

Also, the MSRP of this new kit is significantly less than the TRF101.

Thanks for the pic! But the chassis is meh... =/

Looks like a super 190mm Wgp. Back to the old front end.....should be dialed

Qatmix 04-30-2015 09:37 AM

It looks good to me. The front end will bring the price down a fair bit and you can always fit the carbon front end on if you want.

Being billed as a "TRF", I would have liked to have seen CF arms with articulating uppers, something similar to the Xray. This is more of a F105 to me.

So the rear is "just" a tube dampened t-plate?

Alan.Chow 05-11-2015 01:52 AM

With an old F104 Front and T-plate with tube.

That's a F104X1

Alan.Chow 05-11-2015 02:11 AM

The new chassis also look like it works with the WGP T-Plate

ShadowAu 05-11-2015 02:58 AM

Not sure people should be surprised at some of the features... Tamiya has been the king of recycling for 20 years :sneaky:

it seems like you can mount a fan on the motor mount. That's an improvement.
