Can someone please give me some advice on the assembly of the rear slider pod? Trying to figure out which washers/shins to use.

I use 2mm longer wheelbase. Mellows out the car. 0mm is very aggressive and changes direction fast.Depending on layout you can experiment between this range.
Very easy to change once you get the hang of it.
The slider go short side down, bearing to the outside. (Flange goes inside recess)

To get the bearings in, I heated the sliders with a hairdryer and they will slide in easy.

Thanks, should I also use washers under the 4 screws that are used to adjust ride height between the screw and carbon fiber? Looks like they use them in the pictures

In the front end the washers are large (approx. 6mm in diameter on the outside), you can also use shims designed for VBC Lightning or the Associated RC12 or RC10 pan cars as well. This all depends on the surface you run on and the amount you cut the tires. I prefer shims so I can change the height every run to compensate the tire wear. The washers are a pain IMHO.

Sorry, I meant the rear end ride height screws that go into the pod.
I planned on using Xray ride height shins in the front

You can use washers in the rear end for extra "security" but they are not entirely necessary. The early pictures showed my car which had them on for personal eye candy. Those are actually TC6 shock spacer washers.

Got mine built today. I ended up using all titanium screws on the chassis and aluminum screws/nuts on the rest. Build went pretty smooth considering no instructions. I'll get it out later this week for some practice and report back.
Only real issue was how tight all the ball cups were. I ended up putting the ball studs in a cordless drill chuck and sanding them with 500 grit.
Race ready weight, minus transponder, 728 grams
Don't mind the sensor wire, just temporary, only one I had lying around

Got mine out for some laps today. After some tweaking I must say I love the car. With some advice from Cristian and some practice I ended up with my most consistent times with the medium front springs, green center spring and orange outer springs.
Xray 400wt center shock oil, 15k tubes.
I had my fastest lap of the day with my trusty X12 that I've been running all season but the rr12 showed a lot of promise. Can't wait to get it out this weekend for racing.

Here below is the PM that I sent Brandon, with some great info.


The manual is still a week out. You can however use an AE manual to figure out the front end. It is very close. There will be no "real instructions" for the xenon front end, but rather just a few pictures with some words. I personally use the 0 degree knuckles (no inserts) with a 2mm upper arm spacer in high bite and no spacers in med bite. I use the harder if the 2 provided springs in the front.

For the rear, I start with a 2mn rear pod wheelbase spacers (silver) and the shock fully back. Green spring to start, 32.5 wt oil in the shock, 10k tubes. The rear axle must be centered, I believe the spacing will be higher on the right side than left side. I run the rear at around 169mm.

And to add, the Orange spring is nice for most conditions. Sometimes, I do use a linear spring like the XRAY silver and gold. The linear spring makes the car easier to drive in High bite and less tippy.
