Difference between hobbyking and big brand ESC and motors performance
#16
Would have prefer to spend abit more on the more established brands, such as speed passion, hobbywing and such. Have used hobby king previously, and am saddened that their tech support is almost non existent, and their esc does have QC issues at times. Have experienced first hand whereby it either last u a long time, or sudden death. Switched over to the established brands and no issues as of date.
Personally have stripped out 2 trackstar motors due to excessive free play of the rotor out of box, and realised that it's not shimmed properly as comparing to one of my old trackstar. Pretty disappointed on the QC.

I had a similar discussion when I used Hobbywing before they became what they are today 5 years ago lol... And I do own some Hobbyking/Turnigy stuff now and they are just as competitive as anything out there... Just like how Hobbywing was back then when everyone was a skeptic.

The Trackstar motors are worth a look. I have seen one with a stuffed bearing out of the box but the other 3 used locally were fine.
I haven't used or seen anyone use there car ESC but if it is like there flight ESC it will be ok but not great.
