I am planning to buy a touring kit, my first touring kit. I was thinking of the following:
1. Xray 2015
2. Team Durango's 410TC
3. 3racing 2014 ultimate
4. Tamiya TRF419

I am going to HK next Jan 2016 but I don't want to wait too long, maybe the Sakura 2014 is good buy right now. Probably a new Ultimate will come out end of this year....hm....

I already bought a Low Profile Sawan brushless Sanwa ERB-871 and SP Inventon Pro 1.1 with V4.0 4.5T motor. So I just need to choose a kit now (and a body, probably blitz GSR?)

Bottom line, I don't want something cheap but I don't want to go with a $500 TC kit since I won't be racing much....so question is if this 3racing Ultimate 2014 a good kit ? it's something that's you know it's not high quality and a little bit cheaper (like you can tell by just looking at the instruction manual paper quality) compared to the top ones (i.e. Xray, Yokomo, Tamiya)? If so, I may buy the Tamiya TRF419 kit for $150 more.

The previous model (Sakura Zero S) had a manual that was printed on expensive magazine quality paper. I guess this was their way of compensating. LoL

It's a good kit. You'll notice a lot of xray and tamiya parts will be interchangeable. If you dont race much, the xi Sport would be another alternative. You'll be able to get 3 of those kits for the price of one ultimate.

Thanks. I am leaning towards the Ultimate 2014. It's sitting in the shopping cart waiting to be checked out.

About missing screws and shimming that I've seen in the first couple of posts, these are the problems I will face right? Anybody had lucky building this kit without missing parts?

Lovely. Thanks Mate!

I have the Xray T4 2015 and an optional carbon battery strap and the 3racing Ultimate kit in the cart.

Well I guess I can remove the 2 Xray items and save myself $200 USD

I'm checking out this week

Resurrecting this thread. I know the advance is due out soon, but I have to say. Ive been driving this for so long and haven't broken a thing. And no diff leaks. Nothing. I have won mains and put down the fastest laps in each of my heats. This car is very tunable and just seems to work well, my favorite part about it? The velcro strap LOL. Anyone else having success with the 2014?

I've had great success with this car. Very durable indeed. In racing this car for almost two years I've only broken a couple of things, an aluminum stirring link & a rear hub.
I am exciting about the new Advance coming out soon though.

I agree. I dont think Ill ever truly retire the Ultimate. I tried a TC7 today put 4 packs through it and stripped the front plastic* spool outdrives, split 2 camber ball cups and the battery isnt as secure as it is in the ultimate. The Sakura overall is better quality. Ive been through so many cars, i just love this Ultimate, hope the new one is as good. And Ive broken 0 parts on this car ever. Love it

BTW I cant find the diff gasket that goes in the new diff all I Have is the green ones. Anyone have a part number?

Still comes back to the green ones. The kit came with like a tan gasket. Those work too but i think the tan ones fit better.
