Hi,

Again sharing only my experience :if you kbow how to setup your car and you miss only a bit....one of the last adjustments/options to test different bodies.for carpet ltc is excellent for racing, to have stable car go with mazda6.moving front the body gives you more steering, on ltc 2.0 i would leave in neutral since it already gives enough steering. For more steering, go with gear diff in front (2million) and play with ackerman, bump steer, assuming damper and springs are settled and works great.finally cut middle of the rear wing same way recommended in ltc 2.0.
Of course a lot depends on your arms ...good transmitter & servo helps a lot as well. I just switched to m12s with sanwa servo and it is just perfect.

With pf37 i have no experience.

Enjoy the x !

I have various body shells (as I have a XRay T4 2016 before my elder sis bought me a TRF419X a few months back) mainly of Protoform, including 2 LTC including ver1 and ver2. I have a brand new Dodge Dart shell which I intend to use it on my newly built TRF419X, as I read from the forum that this shell is in between Madza 6 (more stable) and LTC (more aggressive). But seriously, as a newbie in this hobby (I seldom practice in fact), I couldn't really tell which shell can provide more steering, grip, etc, when the car is running. Probably through trying different shells then I may notice the minor differences as they look all the same to me.

2 more question, what do you all think ProtoForm P37 body shell as i seldom seen people talking about it. Also, would you mount your shell closer to the rear to have more steering, or mounting closer to the front of your TRF419X to gain more stability?

I look forward to you guys' advices.

Thank you.

Thanks for sharing your experience and it seems like that's a lot of things to play with. My main concern is traction issue as my local track's traction seems to be low and at times, my XRAY T4 2016's rear sways off after braking from a slightly higher speed at a corner turn of about 90 degree. i have not tested my newly assembled 419X on the track yet. I have used tire compound and sad to say that I can only use a certain brand and model of rubber tires due to the track rules for races. Hence I have to stick with that brand and model of tires. I understand that tires play a very significant role in order to have more traction. For TRF419X's shock springs that come with it seems to be a medium soft type (please correct me if I'm wrong) and I thought of changing the springs to XRay's progressive springs of 2.5-2.8 to make the shocks softer so as to gain more traction.

Once again, thank you for your reply.

Hi,

I just did some maintenance on 419x and decided to install your suggestion !
It did fit with center weight, adding 3.5mm spacers to rear and 2.5mm to the front attachment. I will test it next weekend

One theoretical: having longer link (46mm) might be better / can give different settings..with this size and 36.1mm setting gives the link "medium" flex imo. I prefer if link are much inside in ball connectors.

Cheers
Marton

Stupidity set in and I have a 419X coming

the X ray 2.5-2.8 progressives are out of stock at TQ and Amain. Does anyone know of any other site in the states that has them in stock.

Also on carpet, are most of you running 2.6 linear rear and 2.5-2.8 progressive front?

Does anyone sell it in states?

I need something that can be delivered quickly. Ordering them from RC mart takes a while unless I pay a fortune for EMS

You don't need to do that. The metal parts are perfect. It's an easy build.

Here is a detailed build http://www.thercracer.com/2016/07/42...eview-and.html

Just got in from racing mine and it was so fast and easy to drive. Took the win

Raman yep 2.5-2.8 X-rays on the front and 2.6 on the rear for carpet is a good place to start.

Hi,

How about asphalt track with low traction? How kind of Xray springs should I be using for front and rear? Thanks.
