I really wouldn't go for hitec in TC's, try JR or KO. I really wouldn't, just to be safe.

AE_Racer: get a good digital servo and dont be scrimp on it. like what was said below, you may think that your s3003 is good enuff but once you try those higer end digital servos, you'll be amazed how much easier it is to drive your r/c. they're so smooth and amazingly responsive. personally i can only reco the futaba S9450 or the KO digital one's coz those are the one's i use. have had no experience with JR or Hitech. ......next in line is would be a good radio!. they're pricy but a good one time investment.

First of all, get a futaba 9101; I run this is all my tcs (TC3, Pro 2, Mr4) and it works flawlessly.

Now, if your looking for a nice comfortable, balanced radio, Id take a serious look at the Hitec lynx 3d or airtronics older Caliper 3ps. Both are very nice radios (Ive owned (still own) alot of radios and these 2 are my favorites) and they have that feel that makes you want to hold on to it forever. This is just my opinion though.

AERACER: FAFA is absolutely correct! I heard a lot of good reviews about the Futaba s9450. It ranks up there when it comes to responsiveness and durability. That is why I'm trying to save up some moolah to buy this particular servo. Hopefully, by next week I can buy one and install it in my TC3.

There are sooo many good servos around! The KO 2123/2143 are probably my personnal favourites but the Fut 9450 and others are also very good.

If you upgrade from the 3003 to some of the servos already mentioned, it will be like driving a new car!

This advice does somewhat conflict with what I normally tell people getting into the hobby (not that you are!) because I always say buy the best transmitter that you can afford. But since you already have a transmitter then this would come a very close second choice!

My theory is that cars will come and go, but transmitters will normally stay with you. Also the transmitter is your only "contact" when you run the car... it is critical that it is comfortable! Forget the style, forget the functions (All the top end transmitters have very comparable functions!).

I think the radio you've got now, will be allright for awhile as long as it's got Dual Rate. I'd really, strongly reccomend getting a servo, $50+. It'll hold better under a hit, won't strip as easily, will center faster/better, and will turn faster.

about the servo, someone offered me a futaba 9402 servo that is about 3 years old of course in cheap price. how will i know if its still in gud cond? will the servo still deliver its rating like its brnd new?

do like your Integy charger? i'm considering the 16x5 also, trying to get some comments on integy chargers as i have never dealt with them. i'd like to hear thoughts on them

You should get a servo! The hitec digital servos got a 10 out of 10 in Xtreme, and they are about 20 dollars cheaper than the others. A good servo will make a world of difference!

It's interesting that you say that, because I have the exact same opinion. In the past year or so I've owned a KO Mars, an Airtronics M8, and a JR R1. I couldn't drive well with any of them and got rid of them all and went back to my Caliber. It's been the only transmitter I can race with and just forget that I'm holding it and drive.

What interests me is that you also liek the Lynx 3D. i'd very much like to have one ebcause I'd like to go with the Spectra and Novak XXXTRA combination and never need crystals again, but i'm worried about the feel of the radio.

Since you say you like them both, would I be safe in assuming that the Lynx 3D feels similar to the Caliber? I've held one and it felt okay, but not having raced it I figured I'd ask your opinion on how it compares to the Caliber.

I personally can't stand the feel of a Lynx 3D. If you want the Spectra Modual, it works in a Futaba 3PJ.

Yeah, I think the Lynx is really uncomfortable. Compared to my M8, the balance sucks too!
