It's 125. Think the 4 bucks is a service fee

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to give a bit of an update on entries. When I set up the entry process on RCsignup I had chosen to not require racers to make payment to signup, unfortunately this did not block payments from going through and some were able to make payment. So I have now been able to close the payment window option. Entry fee is $125 but with the $4 pay pal fee it goes to $129. After entries close for the race, Racers will have the option to mail payment in for $125 or go online and do it via pay pal for $129.

For those who have made payments, if you are not chosen for the race via the lottery you will of course get a refund.

I just returned from our ETS in Spain and the talk was for sure of the RROC. All the top guys were asking me questions and very excited for the event to return to the Tamiya Raceway. I feel we are going to have the strongest field in Invitational in many years and will make for the perfect start to the new chapter of the RROC.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me and I will be happy to answer them.

Thanks very much,
Scotty

Thankyou for the update Scotty. If we don't make the lottery knowing a refund won't be a problem makes it easier on the mind.

Good to hear that the return of RROC to Tamiya is creating a buzz amongst the invitational class. It will be a treat to watch them as always.

Default Entry update

With 10 days remaining to sign up, race entries are up to 42 (18 remaining) for Modified and 87 (13 remaining) for 13.5. Remember, the deadline for entries and inclusion in the lottery is Sunday, March 16 (11:55 PM EDT).

This year's RROC is shaping up to be one of the most competitive ever!

Is LAX the best airport to fly into, despite being quite a long way from the track?

SNA (John Wayne Orange County) is closer and a lot more convenient. But it is almost always less expensive to fly to and from LAX when coming to Southern California. Another option is LGB (Long Beach) which is about mid way between the two but has fewer airline options. JetBlue uses LGB.

Ontario ONT and San Diego SAN are also possibilities.

I found it was about $200 cheaper flying into san deigo versus lax. It's looks to be about an hour away from the track which isn't a terrible drive. Google shows part of the highway right on the coast line so i guess thats nice.

LAX can be really busy and traffic getting to and from can be horrendous. But with Monday being a holiday, you would only have to deal with it one way.

It is not a bad drive at all plus there is a lot to do in the San Diego area if you feel like staying an extra day there after the race.

SAN is definitely solid, plus there is the amazing San Diego scenery just outside of the airport. It's one of the major reasons we pay so much to live here.

For those of you who want a really easy airport to get into and out of, definitely go with Long Beach. Long Beach is one of my all time favorites because of the lax vibe, old school feel and overall ease.

Anyway, I am excited to see the Reedy race return to SoCal where this event enjoyed its greatest success.
