VBC GHOST VTA spec

I put the alum bell cranks from my F1 Flash on my ghost since I went with the direct connect system on the F1. But other than that I think you would have to buy the D06 system to get those parts. D-05-vBC-0037
Possible chance to purchase only the B-02-VBC-0053. I will check with our Distributor tommorow.
PS. The ghost is now 3 for 3 TQ and win at our last three club races. Damn good car

A new Ghost is still less costly than a used D06. And after using mine, I think the heavier chassis is better suited. I only added 20g to make weight as opposed to over 100g on my D05. It keeps the weight very low. It is also stiffer than the D06 which for carpet racing is a plus.
Those are my reasons for going with the Ghost.

Has anyone have a good set up for carpet?

Looking back I see that I have asked about the Ghost vs the D06 a couple of times. I don't mean to pester the thread. It's just that I was offered a D06. We didn't talk money, but he is usually fair enough. Thanks for the response.

So I have tamed the massive amount of steering with this car. I found that with the stock steering set-up per instructions that the car had a tremendous amount of turn-in bump steer. To alleviate this I spaced the rack up 1mm with the cone washers from the 05/06 steering rack, then placed the ball joint under the rack. To maintain proper clearand of the ball cup, I spaced it down 1mm. With this set-up I have 0 bump steer. I can adust the amount by adding or removing washers under the steering knuckle ball cup or by adding up to 1.5 mm more under rack ball cup. I was having major traction roll issues until I did this mod.
As for a good carpet set-up, ill post mine later when I get home.

Just curious... Has anyone had the problem of..taking a few hits, and then the front belt comes-off? I bought the car used..(But never run) and was very happy for a few weeks. Then..this started happening. I'm running VTA 25.5 carpet, on a small track. Oh...I'm running a gear diff..on the front.

This isn't a common problem. I would first check your gears to make sure nothing is in them. Next I would take a look at the bearing holders on the front diff. Your belt maybe too loose. There is a small plastic alignment piece on the bearing holder and a good starting point is straight down.

Picking up my ghost Tuesday... Any tips for the build?

I would get bearings for the steering rack and do the mod I mentioned above for the steering rack. Also sand the back of the gears in the diff down with some 300+ sand paper, it will help smooth out the diff action. I would also pick up an extra upper deck, or go ahead and swap it out with a carbon one from the D05. Have a sharp hobby knife ready when you build the shocks, the plastics (particulaly the pistons) will need some trimming. Other than that just take your time and have fun.
Also dont over tighten the screws that hold the diff halves together, I have found those to be very sensitive to stripping the diff plastics. The diff may seem to leak for the first couple runs, as excess fuild the was sqeezed out during the build is spun out. If it keeps up after 2-3 runs then you have a problem.
