I'm bummed there's no 13.5 TC class. Running both 17.5 and mod is a difficult gap to bridge while attempting to remain competitive in both.

Disappointing to see Superstock TC dropped from the lineup...

But if we're lucky, we'll get to see a riveting race between the 2 guys in North America who belong in modified!

There are way more guys that belong in modified than two. In fact, there are probably 20 guys in the 17.5 classes that should be in modified instead of sandbagging. Just because a few of them can stay on the lead lap doesn't mean they all shouldn't be in modified. Keep the modified hate to yourself.

I really am sad to see that there will be no 13.5 sedan class as well.

How do you "sandbag" at a National Event. You're competing with the best of the nation, in the most popular class of choice ?

Racers have a right to spend their vacation days, and expendable income how they see fit, in order to have the most fun possible
Obviously you want to separate, Amateur from expert, but expert means the best of the best, in that class

Mod is cool, but not for everyone

and yeah, 13.5 is fun

No, I meant should. If you take that stand point, lets eliminate all the stock classes at a National event and see who is the best. Obviously that cannot be done or the entry count would be low. But the point still stands that the guys trophy hunting are sandbagging, even if it is at their expense.

Edit: last post about this. I think we should get back to how great this race is going to be.

Trollin', trollin', trollin'... rawhide!

This is should be a great race. I probably can't take the time off to attend, but I might road trip up a few weeks prior with the 5280 guys to do the warmup race.

The facility got some love on RedRC today.

Here is the track calendar. Not sure about an official warm up race? Alex?

Just FYI, they will usually run other classes (mod) if there are enough racers to support it. I am sure Alex would be happy to see some fast guys in mod down here before the Nats! Come on down!

We're not planning on having a warm up race, but in two weeks is a little weekend shindig and then we have two more winter series races January 19th and February 9th.

It is this year's IIC carpet, which has provided way more grip than our old carpet, so...if you went to IIC you already know that.

It is holding up pretty well. My setups that were really competitive on the old carpet are SLOW on the new stuff. I have experimented with some team setups that were run at IIc and my 12th will get up on two wheels with anything less than a full race tire setup. (short and/or glued)

I have no doubt that with the amount of racers at Nats the traction will be comparable to IIc. Of course I didn't get to go to the IIc so take that with a grain of salt.....

Default ROAR Carpet Nationals Schedule

Hi,

I see that the dates are listed as February 26th – March 2nd. Do you know if there is practice on the 26th or is just a check-in and pit setup day? I am looking to book our travel - but wanted to minimize the days away from school for Andrew.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Ian
