Hello,
w/ the stock 76t spur, what is the largest pinion that can fit? will a 59t pinion fit? or should I get a smaller spur to get a smaller pinion in there to run 17.5 stock, blinky.

You've got a 1.9 Spur to wheel ratio. It depends on your track and your motor, but for medium asphalt I'd shoot for something in the 3.5 to 4.0 range. If that's what your looking for, start with a 40 and tune from there.

CRC makes a 72 that should work. Keep in mind they are 3/32" balls though. I found that regardless what spur/pinion you use, the maximum number of teeth total can be 133. Ie, 76/57, 72/61, etc. For 17.5 you should shoot for 100-110mm of rollout depending on the track/motor.

Here she is...
Fresh, silky buttery smooth, and ready for electronics.
Very impressed with the fit and finish.
Great manual.
Now should I do Orca/Reedy Sonic or LRP Flow/Maxzilla?

top shock
I've seen the top shock mounted both ways. What are the benefits of mounting it either way, if there is? Ie top of the shock mounted towards the rear.

Hwo does people deal with slop, after running the car for few months, slops are every where in the front steering system in steering blick, upper and lower pivot ball, not even a 2 degree camber can stop coning the tyre every run, I wish xray can change it to CRC/Serpent style to prevent slop development

To take out steering block slop:
1. Make a flat spot to kingpin
2. Drill a Small hole for 3mm pinion screw to the steering block
3. Add 3mm pinion screw to steering block and align with flat spot and tighten - this way you get the block fixed to kingpin
4. Place a lot of attention to front end smoothness when doing this mod. If the upper eyelet is wrong position, the front end binds a lot.
Use also shims to adjust downstop, because all front springs collapse.
Use metal (not those black ones, they bind) balls in lower arm and replace arms.
There is some amount of slop between upper arm hinge pin. This can me removed filling the upper arm hole with CA and then using reaming the hole again.
Hope these and a lot of patience helps
