Does anyone know what springs came with the TRF418s that included additional parts? (arm, uprights, springs, swaybars).
I'm looking for the elusive HPI Silvers.. car came with a few extra springs I just don't know how close the included springs are compared to HPI Silvers. But the Schumacher greens look like a promising match. |
You guys are months off a new car.
Historically we've seen CAD and spy pics (thx Kentech) around Sept/Oct, but "generally" official new kit release dates have been in December. We did one year see a "mild" update of the existing car after the Reedy Race, but doesn't seem to be one this year. Some countries have got new Cars several weeks earlier from the official release date (eg: Hobby Shops in Sweden, eh Kentech, lol), but generally December has been the cycle for years... New car still 5 to 6 months away! |

If your struggling to find HPI Silvers, try the Schumacher Greens from the Mi5. They are the same as the Silvers, down to wire thickness, coil count, overall diameter, and length.
Trying silvers and greens back to back, no difference on track Schu Greens However, silvers/greens vs ride red springs, there is a difference. The Rides are more progressive, so even though the rate is similar, the feel is quite different on track. They have their place (particularly very bumpy or very low traction, IMO)... But 95% of the time on asphalt, silvers are the go. HiH Ed |
How does running no sponges in the shocks affect the handling?

Those miracle springs are pretty much made of unobtainium now. Though I think the new spring set comes out close.
But the Schumacher greens look like a promising match. http://www.rcmart.com/images/tamiya-42278-2.jpg If anyone wants the bonus springs to make a full set, I'd be happy to part with them (in a trade for something?) I think. Full (well half) set is only $10 or so though! |

But have you noticed in the past inventories drying up this early out?
If none at your LHS or the usual places, I would suggest trying Japan Hobby Shops as a last hope. Banzai Hobby Pro Shop Futaba Champ RC |
I agree. I don't think we will see a new model until after the worlds at the earliest.

Does anyone here have a Sanwa set in their car? I have just started to fit my new Sanwa set into the car and the aerial is looooooong my Spektum pro receiver was nice and short, but this one is about 20cm long..
I cant cut it so do you just fold all the excess up? |
I roll it into a loop the size 10mm and zip tie it. It just sits on top of the rx. I have sanwa rx in all of my cars and I do it all the same except for my pan car.

Question about sway bar adjustments.
Is the primary adjustment mechanism (ie: the one to do first when the left right balance is out) the hex head ball of the vertical link(BC4), or is it the stabiliser end(BC28), moving the bar in/out and changing "length" Obviously if the bar length isn't close to even it will never be right, but how important is this? The upright hex ball is the much easier one to adjust as well obviously! |
