Looks good to me, when can I have it? :D

I think this is gonna be a good step forward, I've been playing with different arms lately and they make a big difference to how the car grips and feels under different track conditions. I think that combined with the new camber link positions, new sway bars and mounts (probably mounting positions too), and new shocks add up to a pretty big geometry overhaul.

I'm loving the blades on the spool too :tire:

I don't suppose there's any chance "new uprights" means c-hubs? They look the same in the drawings. Rears look like they're down to a single hole now.

Are the bulkheads closer together?

Unless they changed the diff then the bulkheads can't come in any further with the existing eccentrics. I also noticed the 1 hole rear hub, but yes sadly the chubs look the same. Front knuckles are a little different tho.

Looks Real Good. Good Value For Money, That Thing Is Full Loaded

Its Basically Got All The TRF417 Aftermarket Options Like A Raceberry Conversion , Raceberry Short Towers , Atomic Adjustable Roll Bar Holders , TRF ECS Front & Rear ,MR..Roche Steel Spool Outdrives ,CSO Or Smokem Style Floating Servo Mount (Got Antenna Mount)

Then All The New Parts Steering Arms , F&R Wishbones , Rear Hubs , 6Degree C-Hubs, Big Bore Short Shocks, Carbon Bumper

I Run T4 And 417 And My Tamiya GearDiff Is On The Same Level As Mine On The T4
Just A Myth

Isit Going To Be A Darker Blue?
Looks Like Black Turnbuckles?

The Only Other Thing Would Like To See Is Narrower Bulkheads/ New Eccentrics & Xray Style Ball Ends & Joints

That's just the CAD rendering, the tammy blue anodizing and V5 turnbuckles will continue :nod

Agree it's loaded, but 417V5 came with this also:
"ECS Front & Rear ,MR..Roche Steel Spool Outdrives ,CSO Or Smokem Style Floating Servo Mount"

I think it is disappointing. I wanted to see a bigger step but one could expect something like this. They should have tried to lower the CG more and made a suspension without C uprights.

That's coming on the 418X. You can't have everything all at once unfortunately. How else would they sell more kits?

Car will be good no doubt about it. It's all in the new arms and geometry. I think this will be right up there at the sharp end of the grid.

I wonder why they needed new suspension mounts? It mentions that as one of the changes on kentech's blog. The 1pc mounts don't appear to have a third mounting point (locating pin) like the Yokomo. They look slightly different but that could just be the CAD rendering.

Hope they make some tougher aluminium while they are at it. (7075.)

I hope they just mean it comes with different blocks to the v5, e.g. back to C/C XA/E. Otherwise I have a lot of useless blue aluminium

I'm curious about what they're trying to achieve with the arm change. Presumably it will alter the geometry and fundamental feel of the car.

syndr0me 08-25-2013 04:08 PM

Fingers crossed for some updated aluminum chubs from someone.

The stiffness of the arm also has a big impact on the feel and how the car uses it's tyres. They might also be making changes to the weight of the arms which would change the feel again. It's gonna be a different beast that's for sure
