that's a pretty neat mod you did there. I would like the spektrum technoloy in my helios, just not the grey module sticking out though. very nice mod.

you should submit this idea to spektrum or ko propo. I really like how it disguises the gray module.

Wait a minute...

How is the signal being re-routed to the main antenna on the radio?

It would require some major board-level modification to the spektrum module itself in order to do so electronically.

Unless you simply drilled a hole in the back of the module, and also through the case of the helios and routed an extension wire for the standard spektrum-type antenna inside the radio.

Hmm...so how was this done?

looks like hes been at the old wheel arches with the scissors aswell

My guess is he just extended the wires from the antenna on the spektrum module and re ran them into the radio.........

Spektrum only put it on the module as it would be a bit much to expect the customer to rip open thier transmitter to fit it.

Chris,

Thats why I'm confused. Because Spektrum™ automatically bypasses the radio's built-in transmission equipment in favor of the direct route antenna on the back of the module in order to transmit a signal.

Hmm...I bet he drilled and routed an internal wire, as doing the PC-board modification would require additional ICs and extensive hard-chip programming equipment. (Not to mention access to Spektrums proprietary base-code for the modules.)
