Default Newbie needs help with Tamiya F104 Grip issues

I'm new to the hobby, just built 2 Tamiya F104 chassis, when running the, with kit tires on asphalt, they hve absolutely NO GRIP!!!. The cars just spin out of control as soon as I hit the throttle- I let them spin and heat up, run some very slow runs, but again, when I try to turn, they just spin out like mad...

Any suggestions on how I can get these kit tyres to grip better?? I don't want to go with foam, would prefer to keep using the kit tires...

Thanks!!!

With my F104 I have found it comes down to tire choice. Also the battery position can help as well. 97% of F1 drivers use a "shorty" lipo pack which is a lot shorter than your average lipo pack which enables you to have the battery further back so there is more weight on the rear tires. I would recommend you buy some decent tires. Start with the RIDE R1's front and rear, also you could buy a soft compound for the rear and a medium compound for the front. This has worked for me with my F104.

+1
Get the soft (S1) and the regular compound (R1) plus tire additive CS high grip and you will be fine for any temperature and any track!

Shimizus are good tires as well. They make both slick and grooved f1 tires. I have found the grooved tires work well on carpet.
