Yes, that's the plan. I'll be there.

But it's cool I messed up on the tire choice I should have bought both A and B compounds instead my dumbass, just got the Bs, I was banking on it being real hot like last year, well it was in the low to mid 70's. Other than the goof with the tires I think it handled very good and it even had plenty of grunt, I'm definitely hooked on racing this car.
Glad you are happy. It's definitely a fun car to drive.

Hey Gavin

Hopefully this is my year. There are a few really fast drivers that are coming up to the nats. Good to see you again.

has anybody had problems constantly braking the rear uprights? I've busted 2 in the span of two weekends. They do seem a little fragile. Does Tamiya make reinforced ones yet? And if they do, are they any better than the stock?

Tamiya only makes the stock plastic knuckes for the car. So long as you keep the car on the ground and are not getting plowed in the rear wheel they should hold up well. I have yet to break one from anything other than traction roll.

If you do not plan on running in the TCS series you ca get some 3racing aluminum knuckles from formula1-rc.com or spetechrc.com.

I have noticed the same problem with the rear uprights. The current ones seem to be unusually weak or brittle. I have an original F201 that I bought when Tamiya first released the car and I am still running the original uprights that came in the kit. Last year, I bought a new F201 kit and have gone through 5 or 6 rear uprights. I broke an upright the first time I had the new car on the track and didn't even touch anything! It seems to me that there was some change in the plastic or the manufacturing process fairly recently that makes the current ones really weak. I keep 2 or 3 spares in my parts tub at all times.

You can always move the position of the rear toe link on the upright. The hole closest to the PB is the stronger of the two.

Psycho, thankfully I carry some spares too.
I will move the link to the inner hole, thanks Neil. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

I found that the car holds the toe setting better, for some reason, if you use the outer hole. If you use the inner hole, the plastic "arm" thingy bends more. If you replace the ballcups with the nicer ones that come with the Evo3, 415, etc kit, you should have less slop and that might help as well.

The car never holds it's setting. After putting the car on the blocks to check everything, I wait 10 sec to do it again, and I get different readings. The way I see it, it's the law of averages.

If you aren't concerned about being TCS legal, you can shim the hell out of it and use different ballcups to get the car to feel as solid as a sedan. My club car is very solid and holds settings well. When people pick up my car and check it out, most of them shake their head and can't believe how solid it is and how little slop there is, so it can be done.

See around me F1 racing hasn't really caught on
The club I race with is trying to start an F201 class, but it won't
start until next April So basically all I'm using it for is TCS.
