Track size? Carpet or asphalt?

I ran with a 3.5 FDR at 50 deg timing. I will try 57 deg timing
Torque or rpm?

Seems like no one is running the torque. Has anyone tried both indoors?

Josh what were you geared and why do you think it blew?
I blew a D3 and the esc went with yesterday the motor didn't smoke it start to lose speed in the heat race with 30 seconds left the went side ways and stopped. I thought it was just the motor at first. Replaced motor between heats and then I discovered the esc was gone too! The motor was never hot in the morning practice temped it twice and it was really fast. I had debris get in the cooling fan an it stop cooling the motor I hope that was the prob I hate to smoke another motor!

I have been trying to keep two fans on my motors to prevent this very type of failure. I have been running an R1 wurks behind the motor and a 3 racing in front of the motor.

Backup system

Yeah, but if you are following ROAR rules, only one fan is allowed.

I was geared at 3.7 fdr in Rev Magzilla! I have been running that fdr for a couple of months now and temps have been 120 to 130 with very good Superior Hobbies fan! Fan was still working fine when it smoked! I dont know what caused it. I through in my back up motor to race the main. I think esc is fine. Still think Im going to try one of these Killshots. Another guy I know said he blew one up last week as well. I wasnt there and dont know what he was geared at!

I just picked up one of the kill shot torqe motors with a 12.5 torqe rotor from Express Motorsports. I cant wait to try it out. Hopefully it doesn't let out any smoke signals

That's what happen when your crank it up from zero timing to meltdown lol.. I have mine on order should be getting it this week.. REVTECH don't like being geared high they run hot.. The sweet spot is 2-3 teeth lower compared to other motor and they run fast ad cool without fade throughout the whole race.

Ran my torque version from Express Motorsports today at Lou's speedway TQ'd and won, carpet track, geared at 3.65 and 53 degrees of timing! Car was fast lots or low end power!
