Yes they would have been cut arms.

It's finally arrived! my MI5 Evo.... As I am doing the build as I type I had a question. Intentions are to run 17.5 blinky. Which spur gear would be better to install. The stock 85t spur gear or the optional 44t spur?

Thx

You will need the blinky motor mount if you use a 44t spur.
I use a 64t 48p spur with a 35t pinion to get a fdr of 3.30 with flat head screws to bolt the motor in.
I don't like the blinky motor mount because it moves the motor to far back.

you don't want to run 64p? if you do 96 is pretty common to run in blinky 17.5.
it just depends on the motor to run to find the right balance.

Me personally i run the 44t spur and a 24 pinion for the oudoor track i run at, I found this a great, its a great balance between acceleration and top end. for 17.5 blinky and the motor up max, the motor comes off at about 75C, which is fine for the motor in running.

Does anyone know if the plastic ends that fit on the evo suspension arms fit on the 5?

Did anyone has a good starting carpet setup for the Mi5Evo?
I would say it´s a mixed track. Not to open, but also not real tight and Medium-High Grip.
We drive with LRP X20 17.5T Motors, Blinky Mode, 4.5 Translation (96t-38t 64dp) and LRP CPX Carpet Tires, 1350g...
Here is a 360° Picture of the Track:
ww*w.mst-estenfeld.de/tl_files/documents/ueber_uns/strecke/pano_indoorstrecke/fahrerstand.html

Until now, I only run the Evo on tarmac on my home track and it feel very good and constant, but i had little problems with my rear end grip. I had perfekt steering but at mid corner and a little bit at corner exit the rear of the car was to loose.
On the Raceday when it was wet, it was completly different with the LRP Dunlop rain tires. The Rear was perfekt, but i missed a bit steering, also when i changed the shock positions at the front and the rear. It was better, but not so perfekt.
This was my setup:
ww*w.dropbox.com/s/nvwtd6yceqi0h06/MI5Evo_ESM_6Lauf.pdf?dl=0

I also tested rear motor position on dry and on wet conditons, but it was a little bit to slow in the tight double harpins.
Here is a picture of my home track:
ww*w.facebook.com/310450135658475/photos/a.386086338094854.82018.310450135658475/649665445070274/?type=1&relevant_count=1
And the Layout on the last raceday:
ww*w.facebook.com/310450135658475/photos/pb.310450135658475.-2207520000.1411555630./621175777919241/?type=3&theater
I also have a video, but only one where we go in the wrong direction:
ww*w.youtube.com/watch?v=-JSzYMEZdUo&feature=youtu.be

In additon i must say my home track is a vers spezial track, because the grip level is normaly very very low and its a very bumpy track. So if you run with a formel car with a 17.5T motor your the half time in the air...

And i must say sorry for my bad english. I hope you understand what i mean

Personally I run the kit carpet setup with a few changes:
Green springs front and rear
1.3 roll bars front and rear
Short camber links (2dink rear hub plates)
Wide front wheel hexes
2.5mm top deck

This gives lots of steering so be warned but it's very fast!

I will test it at the LRP-Challenge (18./19. 10.2014). I will also test an active rear suspension there. I inform you about the results

Here is a picture of the active suspension:

And one about of my Mi5 Evo, which I repurpled
