I believe Durango makes Ti turnbuckles for their off-road vehicles that are the same sizes as the detc410. They are, in my opinion, too expensive. Lunsford makes Ti turnbuckles very close in size for much cheaper.

Anyone know of any information on upgrades, or maybe even a V2 being developed for Mr. Harper at the worlds? It seems like all the other manufacturers are racing either prototypes or just released chassis'.

I'm really enjoying my detc410 and I hope Durango puts some time and money into continuing to develop this car.

I put 3 Racing titanium turn buckles on mine from tqrcracing.com, they're cheap.

Are you doing some type of modification to the out-drive shaft or are the o-rings he received to small?
Did you check the spider gears if they rotate freely on the plastic cross shafts. Generally I take a bit of sandpaper or a file to smooth each pin out until the gears spin freely on the shaft. Also, perhaps the bevel gear is not seated on the pins correctly in the diff might be a problem causing a binding issue.

I run an Orca TX 21.5, and a Tekin RSX. As far as gearing it all depends on the size of your track, and the motor you run, personally I would start at a 4.0 and go from there, but see what the other guys are running at your track. You will need to get a different spur gear to get the rollout you want, there I would get a 92T Panaracer from Reflex Racing, and some pinions in between 40-50T should be more than enough if you go with the 92T spur, but as I said check with the other guys at your track first before you go spending all cash on gears. Here's a link for a gearing chart, it will tell you what you need to buy for sure, http://www.petitrc.com/reglages/dura..._GearChart.pdf
Then I would get tamiya ball cups and ball studs for less slop, I cant remember the part numbers but they are on this thread somewhere thats where I found them, for sure get a parma ultimate front bumper for a TC5, and maybe some titanium turn buckles from tqrcracing.com, "if you look down a few posts you will see the part numbers I posted for them". And that should about get you set

Default First Build

I just finished my first build of a touring car and it was the DETC410. Everything went really well and I can't believe how good the instructions are. I'm used to buying pan cars for oval racing and you are lucky if you get instructions The only question that I have is the amount of slop in the wheels. It seems like I can pull on the wheels towards the outside and push on them and that is where the slop is. Hope this makes sense. It seems like some shims next to the bearings might take the slop out, but I didn't see anything from TD that is made for this. I have some of the wheel shims, but these seem to only fit over the skinny part of the axel to extend the distance between wheels. Does anyone else have this problem? And how did you fix it? Are the bearing holes 5mm?

Thanks

Default Wheel slop

Tyler, check out the pic and make sure you installed the TD310032 crunch spacer between the bearings. If you did, make sure you pull the axle all the way into the 12mm hex before tightening the clamping bolt. Yes the axles should be 5mm.

Yeah, I built it correctly Spacer is there and I puled the axle all the way out before I tightened the clamp. Still seems like there is too much play.
