Been putting this car together when I have time, during outdoor/offroad season.

Planning on running it in VTA, but I put the wheels on last night and they rub real bad per the pic and the shock bottoms (on lock, although i moved to the inner hole in the pic). What have folks been doing to fix the issue ?

Default Vta

Quick fix, small washers between the hex and the wheel. Right fix, 5 or 6mm wide 12mm hexes.

Besides Elliot Harper, has anyone had any success with this chassis?

Travis America was at the roar nationals this past week and struggled extremely bad with the car. I know he is an off road guy by nature but he seemed to have his hands full the whole time

Amezcua

But yeah, not so much luck. This car has much potential but I think some reliability with the plastics, ect. will help its case. TD will hopefully release a revised TC in the future that addresses a few key areas.

a few quick questions...

Is a front gear diff the same as the one thats in the rear?

Is there a different spool gear that will fit in this car? Something like HPI's TCX spool with the aluminum instead of the normal all plastic.

Have to admit, I've had a bad start with the car, but after just trying to be persistent with it, it only getting better and better, the only issue at the moment is me trusting the car as well as I did with my old car.
Don't know if it sounds silly but I just had a lot more trust for it after racing it for so long. Racing this coming weekend and hopefully I've done all I've can on setting the car up now, just need to be more confident with it.
I still like the car though, maybe because I like the challenge more.

Im very new to the on road world (iv been running off road cars off and on for about 8+ years) and to me going from off road to on world is a completely atmosphere when it comes to driving style and predicting what the car is going to do.

My 1st on road car was an Associated TC6.2 and after i got it i found out my 1st race day i was all alone, no one was running the AE 6.2 and one guy was running the 6.1. Iv had nothing but good outcomes when it came to off road AE cars (10th 2wd, 10th 4wd, and 1/8th for the short time i had it) so i decided to go with the 6.2 and i will say OMG it was a nightmare. No matter what i did to the car i could not get it to drive consistently. Not to mention since no one was running this car i couldnt get that much help from the other drivers. They tried all they could do to help me and i thank them for making it derivable but i still could not get the car right for me. After about a month of pure frustration i decided to switch to a different chassis. Everyone at my track runs X-Ray, Photon, Yokomo, VBC, and Awesomatix. I still wanted to be different so i went with Durango and like my associated i am the only one at my track with a DETC410.

This car compared to the associated was like night and day. It was A LOT easier to drive out of the box and its very similar to other cars so finding a setup that worked for my track was simple. Iv had nothing but luck with this car so far. I have not won any Main with it yet but i was able to add an extra lap to my runs after the switch. Once i get my driving better with on road im sure i will be even happier with it.
