Default 2005 touring car playoffs

Before all the Losi guys flip out I only put down it there because the car is new. I hope when ExtremeRC or RCCA does another shootout they go for lastest and greatest for asphalt and carpet.

10 cars enter 1 car leave!!

Belts. / Shafts:

1. 415ms / 1. Pro4

2. X-ray 05/ 2. TC4

3. RDX / 3. MRTC-SDW

4. Losi / 4. Evo 4ms

5. Mi2/ 5. Barracuda R3

Too early to run any shootout. You need the FT-TC4 and the Cyclone before having one.

Please don't leave out the new Yokomo BD it has been doing quite well and has a much better design features than many of the belt cars.....
Losi does have the newest design but I haven't heard much noise from the JRSX just yet....I raced one this last weekend and I wasn't impressed but that might have been the driver too.
But as with all things it is who gives the magazines the most advertising dollar is who wins the best touring car prize....
All I can say is with all the new cars out now you can pick one and almost win right out of the box...
I like that all of them seem to come almost fully hopped up. I know that is a good reason why we pay$400 for a kit now...
Just my $0.02

If your going to do a playoff format, then weight the field. Here should be the matches:

1: 415ms-Mi2

2: FK05-Evo4ms

3: Pro4-Cuda R3

4: RDX-FT TC4

5: YokSDW-JRX-S

Car with most votes gets a buy in round 2.

Round two start tomorrow.

Stay tuned...

Have a good look at any magazine shootout. You will find that 9 times out of 10 the winner comes from the manufacturer that has given most cars to the staff of that magazine, and booked most advertising pages.

Ever heard the expression, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours?

How about going on track success at big events, say nationals. If we did that we will find a very clear winner in Europe at the moment in the Corally RDX. It's winning nationals everywhere, every weekend.

That's probably a better indication of what's presently best.

There should be catagories
LIKE THESE

1)BEST OUT OF THE BOX
2)BEST ON CARPET
3)BEST ON ASPHALT
4)EASIEST TO WORK ON
5)BEST PARTS SUPPORT
6)THE USER FRIENDLINESS

That way people would know which car is best for them...
Here are my answers
1) PRO 4
2) RDX
3) YOK BD
4) YOK BD
5) TC4
6) XXXS G+

But then again there goes the opinion-O-meter again...

I think 6 is the same as 4. Maybe you should call 6 "Hobby Shop friendly" lmao

And the Yokomo dominates in SE Asia. But the 415 won the most important race in RC.

I would say if there is a shoot out on belt vs shaft, why not:
- EVO4MS vs 415MS
- BD vs SDLCG
- PRO4-2005 vs Cyclone

Both from the same manufacturer, both use identical suspension (not very sure about BD vs SDLCG). So this create the best scenario on belt vs shaft.

Or, almost-the-same-layout shoot out:
- Mi2 vs 415MS vs BD vs Cyclone vs RDX vs (whatever I missed)

The problem with doing a shootout with the public, is that no one has access to all these box stock cars, all at once,l and under the same conditions. Next time you get to run 10 different cars on the same day, let me know. Otherwise, you'll juts get people's personal opinions based on their own car that they've come to learn inside and out. Also, you'll get impressions from them of other cars that they've seen and have no control over (i.e., "I saw so and so's car and it looked slow"). They base their experience of a car on a slower, less experienced driver, or someone who hasn't set up the car right, etc. Or the opposite, where a fast guy shows up, and their car is fast on the track, so the car must be fast (not taking in to account that someone like Hara will make a shoebox look fast). One last thing, each car needs to be set up to track conditions to perform at it's best, and when the day's conditions come up, some cars need to be further from their box stock set up then others. Example: Schumacher Mi2 for asphalt; team guys use carpet towers, remove chassis screws, run TRF shocks, AE springs, drill pistons, run a spool, nitro car front belt, etc. Some say that we are just comparing box stock cars, but 90% of racers make changes to those settings, so this isn't a useful shootout. My 2 cents.

And if it dominates with the best drivers in the world then what left is there to say? LOL J/K
Just love my BD handles like a dream and it is easier to work on than any other car I have seen. Diffs in and out with four screws.
Point made...
LOL
