These motors are awesome, tons of power and very little maintenence. They run really cool too with the aluminum endbell.

EddieO 04-21-2005 10:20 PM

No Horizon?

When they gonna be available OEM??

I've been looking to buy one of these forever, but I can't find them anywhere.
Where are they online?

Dsilva 04-21-2005 11:01 PM

Randy thanks for the support on the motor. We are tring our best to make the product speak for it's self.

Eddie, GP is the exclusive distributor of the Checkpoint line of product. Also OEM stuff will not be out in the near future. We have a ton of back orders to fill.

Duane

Ill Factor 04-21-2005 11:07 PM

Will you have a Spec 19t?

danjoy25 04-21-2005 11:09 PM

I think you should offer them to tuners as well. Just my opinion.

They arent avalible yet, shipping out the first batch on the 27'th.

EddieO 04-21-2005 11:35 PM

Hopefully OEM hits fairly soon.....its key in my opinion for a successful motor.....especially if only one distributor is carrying them....

I know some of my guys would like to run them....

Are they still using the sagami arms?

I was just wondering if the motor is ROAR aproved.

STEALTH 04-22-2005 12:11 AM

Congrats to Team Checkpoint!!! I know O'Donell now owns the rights to the name but its still great to see the Checkpoint brand name back in RC! I still have my original Checkpoint GOLD in my Tamiya HotShot! Bravo once again!!!

One thing is for sure.... your new motors are very efficient and competitive! Jared Tebo seems to be very happy (and successful) with his! ;)

Any chance we might be seeing a Checkpoint Brushless Motor in the future (even if it's just the motor and without the ESC)!?! I think that would be great!

:tire: :D :tire:

BullFrog 04-22-2005 03:16 AM

Now what's the possiblity of a ROAR spec 19t fixed endbell 24 degree motor?

EddieO 04-22-2005 08:20 AM

From what I am told, they are working on a 24 degree stock motor...

And the Checkpoint Modified is now ROAR approved....it was recently added to the approved products list on the ROAR page....

Dsilva 04-22-2005 08:41 AM

Yes we are working on a stock motor and a spec 19t.

The motor is Roar and Ifmar approved right now. Still working on all the EFRA stuff.

Will most online hobby shops carry them? or will they be specific to a certain site?

Jack Smash 04-22-2005 12:20 PM

Their are using Great Planes for their distribution so any shop that buys from them can get these motors.

Daryl Silva 04-22-2005 02:58 PM

Everyone can see the new Checkpoint motor in the April issue of Extreme R/C car. They rated it a BIG FAT 10! They are working day and night on the first production runs. Trust me once you try one of these motors you will be hooked.

I would like to run them once they go OEM and Eddie can get a hold of them Especially after seeing Randy's the other night at SoCal.

Randy Caster 04-24-2005 10:18 AM

You need to see it on a more open track where I can get on more than 1/2 throttle, then it gets impressive :)

sweet wasabi 04-24-2005 01:27 PM

what kind of brushes will fit team checkpoint motor?
do we have to use special ones?

Daryl Silva 04-24-2005 04:01 PM

They are round brushes. No other brushes will fit. We have found some great new compounds that are lasting 30-40 runs in off-road and 10 runs in touring car with out lossing power.

Randy Caster 04-24-2005 04:37 PM

Not to mension I was only cutting my motor every 5-6 runs, not bad for a 7 turn..

Jack Smash 04-24-2005 04:51 PM

That is the best news right there!!

Daryl Silva 04-25-2005 07:32 AM

Check out the link below for some information on the motor.

Looking good...........I think I sitll have my old school checkpoint GOLD and SILVER along with my Mid Optima and.........Ultima.

Chris Grainger 04-25-2005 10:08 AM

Hi Guys

I have been testing the Checkpoint motors in the UK, I have to say that these are the best motors I have used!

The quality of the engineering in the endbell is superb!

I have run 7 and 8 turns, with the 7 turn I ran 15 times on one set of brushes, changed to new ones with no gain in performance! So I would say at least 15 runs on the brushes

Daryl Silva 04-25-2005 10:10 AM

Eddie: All armatures approved are Sagami.
dasdaman: We will post the part numbers for the brushes and springs later today.
If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Daryl Silva 04-25-2005 10:11 AM

Chris: Duane told me that thing are going great with the motor. Are you comming over for the Reedy race

sweet wasabi 04-25-2005 10:17 AM

Do you have a web site?
Any where else that I can get the motors?

Daryl Silva 04-25-2005 10:26 AM

The website will be finished in the next few days or so. We don't have enough time in a day to keep up with the demand. Great Planes is our North and South America distributor.

Chris Grainger 04-25-2005 10:27 AM

Hi Daryl

Things are good, the motors bring a smile to your face every time you hit the gas!

They should be B.R.C.A / EFRA Legal soon

I need to speak to Duane some more about the Reedy, may be there:D
