Ok I bought this kit. Put it together and raced it for the first time this weekend. This car was dailed really good. Until I had problems with it. I don't know who I need to write to have these problems looked at and taken care of. But here is a few things I have found that is wrong with this kit once it is together and racing. Please any tell me if you have had the same problems. I love the car don't get me wrong. But almost every heat I had a problem with it. Running foam tires on asphalt

1. The camber for the upper arms strip out easy. The track I race at we have a lot of left hand turns that put a lot of pressure on the front right and it pulled the camber adjuster out of the arm and striped it. Since they are made of plastic.

2. The steering. The servo mount support (6mm and 8mm) stripped. You snag a wall or anything and it comes right out and stripped.

3. The servo horn it's plastic and again can strip out easy if snagged on a wall or anything. There is no servo saver on this or in this kit. Other than that this kit is awesome. I was leading the race I was in for a while til the servo horn wanted to kick over to the left and not let me steer.

If they can work out these bugs in this kit this kit will be unstoppable. Please fix this I don't want to have to go back to my F104w GP. Thank you for the great kit. Maybe some Aluminum hop up parts to help these problems.

Oh another thing, where in the world do I find parts? I want to pick up some extra parts for this car just don't know where to buy them or even look for them at.

CRC is the US distributor.

I am sure in the future that A-Main, Stormer Hobbies, Advantage Hobby, Roche HK and other retailers will carry parts for this car as they do for the VBC Wildfire.

This kit is so new that no one has parts for it yet.

Great car.
Several racers took their turn at the wheel. It was my first time running 2wd rubber tire on carpet. You must really drive these cars which makes it a ton of fun.
How was it compared to the f1r ?

Just order the parts thru CRC. As for the plastic stripping-it's plastic replace the parts. Have you tried a servo saver for the servo?

By the way, I mounted my servo vertically (horizontal shaft) and put a Losi XXX-S servo saver on it. The ball for the link then went on the bottom of the drag link without a spacer.
Perfect.
I also used a mini servo (Matching my WGT car). No issues with torque and it is fast.

As for how it compares, other than a F104 v2 Ekotec the remainder was F104 T bar cars so hard to compare. A group of us thrashed to improve the V2 and had helped it a ton.
The rest of the field only had a single sub 12 second lap in three rounds of qualifying and the main. My best lap in race conditions was 11.400 and my best fast 20 average was 11.81. In after racing practice Wayne Gerber cracked off several 11.3's and finally a 11.2 with more than 10 minutes of runtime on the battery. The car is noticeably smoother, has more corner speed and more tunable than anything running at The Gate so far.

Yeah this kit doesn't push nearly as bad as the f104w gp that i had. It is a lot smoother over all. Love this car.

Could you post a picture of the steering setup please?

I got a hold of my VBC dealer here and he told me that the parts I need are on back order. He has my list and will tell me when they come in. I guess they haven't made extra parts yet. It seems like all company's do it like this. Make the kit sale the kit but when you break you can't get parts til a few months later.

Is there someone at The Gate with a 104 V2? I think that the car that you worked on was a Exotek. But I may be thinking about the wrong car.

I am not sure but you may be correct. It has Exotek upper arms, Tamiya lower with direct steering, Associated side links and the rest is Tamiya. It is all on a graphite chassis.

If you are talking about Chucks car its a exotek f1r built from a tamiya f104. Same as mine but with a few different options
