quick question... does having more belt exposed w/ these bulkheads offer more chance of getting debris jamming up the system?

also, how much "slack" should my belts have?

I have never dropped a race due to stuff caught in the drive train i drove the car like that for about 9 months (600+ mins on the track)

As much as possible without them slipping but with the rubber they stretch tons so you should think about upgrading to arimid or kevlar

Make them a little lose but watch for stretch and adjust accordingly

anyone else have problems getting the turnbuckles together?
i cannot get the end caps to screw onto the shaft.
i have tried screwing into them w/ other screws...
tried boiling the ends in water to warm them a bit...
no luck

cannot get this turnbuckles put together...
whats the secret?!

The turnbuckles thread are opposite on either end. The end where the "nut" has a line follows the common convention of clockwise to tighten, the other end requires you to turn counter-clockwise to tighten.

holy cow!! you are right! thats funny.... i bought some alloy turnbuckles for my TL-01 and was never able to get them together either....
same problem!

also, curious, my belts are very loose.. right now i have the tensioner dead center. should i move it towards the motor or away from to tighten?

i just ordered today a traxxas slash for my son... threw in some blue arimids in the order.
so ill just wait till i get those to adjust it.

Hi

I'm having an issue fitting trans-am tires on my Ta-05. The front tires hit the ball cup and the back side of the steering knuckle. How much have you guys shimmed your fronts in order to get the front trans am tires to work?

I'll have to find the part number, but I bought a Traxxas hex. It came with one thick, which is a little thick than the Tamiya plastic and one thin.

The 2 together I use on my son's TA05 since it dosen'e have the lock on hexs and I use just the thin on mine with the blue lock on hexs.
