What have you raced before? Any offroad or anything else?
I would caution against going right to high speed brushless or mod. It might be a better idea to start with stock racing or maybe 19turn. Stock is still pretty fast and it is a good place to improve your basic driving skills before moving up.

hmmm
well i have nitro onroad 1/10 sedan now. they are fast. its a serpent 710 fully hopped up. im use to the high speeds. i dont really race. i just love to see how fast i can get them. my driving skills at high speeds are ok. im not a pro, but i can keep it on the road.....sometimes...lol. ive had lots of rc cars. savages, 8th scale buggies, planes, helicopters, and lots of onroad. but i want a really nice electric. and i just need help finding something thats brushless thats super super fast. i love speed. and im just not up to date on the new stuff. thanks

You are right on the cusp of the new Brushless systems. Sure Hacker and others make fast ones, but Novak is very common and the 5800 system is great. ...But, Novak and LRP are coming out with their new systems and the ESC in the systems can run normal brushed motors too. I'd do some research in those, since the verdict is still coming out.
