ok, Jack.... don't you think proactive and reactive is a little subjective? I mean, you don't know there is a problem until the problem arises and then you react to correct the problem... am I correct?
(having fun here, Jack and I banter quite often!)

speedxl - uh, no thanks.... truly.... can't handle that kind of stress... LOL Seriously, the current ROAR president is working feverishly to improve the national management situation. Its a serious discussion. He's contracted for several sets of tech equipment to be made and travel... work is being done, I swear!!

Dawn - thanks for the reply.
No, I actually sent that e-mail to Rick Wilson personally and had several long phone conversations with him in the months prior while I was still at Surge. Once I sent that e-mail I never heard back from him. I remember leaving message(s) on his voice mail as well regarding potential problems with the owner--never received a reply.
Again, I am not placing blame on any one person, just pointing out that an individual (I) contacted someone at the top at ROAR regarding the Nats track and the potential embarrassment it could cause ROAR and obviously very little was done to be _proactive_. Honestly, if Rick would've revisited that discussion with me in the months prior I bet a lot of this Nats disaster would've been averted.
Sure, hindsight is 20/20, but I think something can be said for learning from our mistakes.

i read on this forum a couple of post ago how sponsered drivers shouldnt drive in the stock class . id like to make a point on this let them race but dont give me the bs that us nonsponsered (pay out of our own pockets fulll price) can get the same batteries these guys get or brushes for that matter . ive been to races where the the numbers these guys get will never see on there batteries and im sorry to say driving excluded. stock is motor battery racing who got the best wins. as we say them who gots the ponys wins and the volts to push the ponys. just my 2 cents

Man, that's a can of worms you've opened, but obviously still a valid concern that needs addressing.
As someone who has seen both sides of the equation (being a unsponsored guy to coowning my own battery/motor company and being sponsored by several companies) I will say that having good, high-end packs is essential to performing well at large events, but it's only _one_ of many, many details that the average racer simply overlooks.
It's analogous to two people having the same intricate recipes--one is a great baker, the other just average in the kitchen. You can give them the same ingredients, the same timeframe for completion, but the baker is 99 times out of 100 going to make a much better cake.
You have no idea how much preparation and works goes into a solid run at a large event. Obviously, once you get the hang of running well at large events, it gets easier to some extent. (Look at Ray Darroch. He basically throws his car on the track and goes and is bound to finish in the A every time.)
IMO in order of importance it would be driver, builder, chassis, batteries, motor. Some would probably switch the batteries and motor part...to me they're almost equal.
