Hey everyone, I've been eye balling the Xray t4 for the last week, I'm just returning to the TC scene as it has been a long time since I last ran TC, I've heard that this was a really good car to go with and the car right out of the box is just incredible, can someone help clue me in and help me make the right decision.

Default Building Question

I am almost done building my T4.
However, the opposite suspension arms do not move up when I lift one side.
What could be causing this?
Manual says the arms will move up and down at the same time if set correctly...

Any ideas?

Thx.

So is Xray shock oil different from lets say associated? Im running 45 to 35wt in associated so what would be the same in Xray? Curious!

First, the shocks need to be off the car when you do that test... Just making sure.

Now do the following:
- Disconnect the swaybars from the arms.
- Make sure the swaybars move up and down super freely. When you lift up and let go, it should just flop down. If they don't, the set screws that reduce slop are probably too tight. Or possibly one of the centering collars is jammed up against a bulkhead.
- Make sure the suspension is moving super freely. When you lift up on it, and let go, it should just flop down. If it doesn't, fix that first. Not sure how likely these causes are, since I've never owned an XRay, but check: arm moves freely on the hinge pin, ball cups aren't binding, hinge pin blocks aren't pinching the spacers against the arm and causing binding.

EDIT: It's also possible that the swaybar droplinks are too tight on the balls causing binding, too.

Depending on the thickness of the swaybar, lifting one arm may not lift the other one to exactly the same height. I think the most useful test is to set droop, then flip the car upside down, pull the arms against the droop screws, and release one arm at a time. Each one should move down off the droop screw by the same amount, when the other is held up.
