The worlds is a bad example....it was as much about tire strategy as anything due to weather...

Since I've discovered them, I have ordered something like 7 or 8 daily pill box!

Excellent for shims, screws, etc, etc.

You can find very very cheap models on eBay...

I love the pill boxes cheap and efficient Target Walmart or any drugstore has them cheap, sewing containers are great too.
I put my spacers on a screw and usually use fuel line to hold them in place and write the spacer thickness on the fuel tube

What makes Tamiya style blocks better or faster?

It is faster because there is less friction in the suspension with Tamiya style blocks.
There is alot of diffrent forces acting on the suspension arm hinge pin while cornering. This increases the friction in the suspension more on the xray system than the other manufacturers system.
On the others system the steel pivot ball is perfectly aligned to the susp arm hinge pin.

Hudy has an awesome double sided box for screws. I use it for my misc screws and washers for spacing.

Yup, I have a few of them for each of my cars and they are great.

It's not the most accurate but all the manufactures had new cars out and well rum yes some preformed better than others clearly.
The car must work because at the warm ups it done very well.

As I said I am a big fan of xray but I was hoping for the change in pivot block design for my own taste it did not happen.

I really hope the next worlds xray win, its a trophy they deserve on their shelf.

If you asked all the drivers that attended, I doubt much if any would describe this year's worlds as "the biggest event in the industry". But rather ETS seems like to be taking over in popularity. If you had a look at the last 2 rounds, which I guess would've been ran with the prototype car the Xray finished 2nd and 1st.

Is it me or are they trying to get the center of gravity low to compete with the A700

NolanP 09-29-2012 12:02 PM

Lowered center of gravity. front and rear shock towers, shorter shocks, floating layshaft for the spur (awesome), thinner yet solid chassis looks like the flex will be more even

:ha:
I need one!

defcone 09-29-2012 12:09 PM

Seems like it comes with hagberg mod standard.

sjh28 09-29-2012 12:43 PM

It doesn't seem to be as "optimized" as previous models...I'll still get one to replace my T3 2010 (2011 spec'd).
:D

RCBuddha 09-29-2012 12:44 PM

Looks good, I like the improvements.

Jampot 09-29-2012 12:59 PM

Very nice, very nice indeed. Well done xray.
