Shocks appear to be sorted, I found the oring cap was bottoming out before the thin washer made contact with the oring on the 2 not so good shocks.
The 2 orings were just protruding from the shock body so I assume the design was to have the washer press up to the bottom of the shock body applying slight pressure to the orings to prevent movement and leaks.
I removed approximately 0.1mm from the cap which allowed the thin washer to press against the oring and stop air being sucked in.

Are you referring to the o-ring collar ?

Me and my brother are both running new BD7's...
But he seems to have a recurring problem with his front spool. Everytime he has a minor brush with the wall, his front spool snaps. He has gone through three of the original spools that came with the set. We are now looking for a metal replacement. But just want to know if anyone has encountered this problem as well....and if anyone has located the issue and found a solution...
thanks in advance! Just want to get running with this thing!

Thanks for the reply...
Yes I am talkign about the plastic spool that came originally in the box...
He has gone through three of them already..... Luckily I have not broken anything yet....Just want to know what is the issue....
He lost the little ring that goes on the end of the spool....might that have an impact?
cheers

I don't know why you would, the diff, if properly built is super smooth and lasts really long, and the stress on the plastic gears might be too much and may cause failure. Might be worth trying with metal gears :-)

You mean these?

i ran my bd7 yesterday for the first time it was good but i noticed the drive train was a little tight even after the i loosened the belts i later found out to day after going through the car that the layshaft was binding up from the cone washer on the outside bearing i fixed it with a 3x4 button head screw

I'm too lazy to take mine off to see if I took it out completely and/or replaced with with a thinner washer/shim. hehe

yes the countersunk one my bad lol ,but the button head screw works with out adding a shim in replace of the countersunk washer i also sanded all my gears in my diff with 2000 grit water sand paper and reshimed it now its twice as free !!
