I removed approximately 0.1mm from the cap which allowed the thin washer to press against the oring and stop air being sucked in.
washer?
Are you referring to the o-ring collar ?

Me and my brother are both running new BD7's...

But he seems to have a recurring problem with his front spool. Everytime he has a minor brush with the wall, his front spool snaps. He has gone through three of the original spools that came with the set. We are now looking for a metal replacement. But just want to know if anyone has encountered this problem as well....and if anyone has located the issue and found a solution...

thanks in advance! Just want to get running with this thing!

Yes I am talkign about the plastic spool that came originally in the box...
He has gone through three of them already..... Luckily I have not broken anything yet....Just want to know what is the issue....
He lost the little ring that goes on the end of the spool....might that have an impact?

sounds good, will build a set and see how it goes. Will post my findings. Thanks Jorge!

I don't know why you would, the diff, if properly built is super smooth and lasts really long, and the stress on the plastic gears might be too much and may cause failure. Might be worth trying with metal gears :-)

Cone washer? You mean the countersunk one with flat head screw on the very end? When I built mine, I took out one of the shims from the kit. No issues at all with binding.

I also have binding on my drive train. Cone washer? What do you mean? What kit shim did you take out?

I don't remember, but looking at the manual, there is a 0.2mm washer on the center gear assembly. Take that out if you are binding there. If there is too much play after you take it out, then replace it with a 0.1mm washer.

I'm too lazy to take mine off to see if I took it out completely and/or replaced with with a thinner washer/shim. hehe

yes the countersunk one my bad lol ,but the button head screw works with out adding a shim in replace of the countersunk washer i also sanded all my gears in my diff with 2000 grit water sand paper and reshimed it now its twice as free !!
