Peak Dynasty 19t Motor
I'm lookin for some tuning options for the Peak Dynasty 19turn motor....................
Let's hear it,,,,,,,brushes , spring combo's, etc............ Thanks |
I have 3 of those and I've noticed that bearings on it die real fast. I've had to replace the original bearings on all 3 of mine after about 20 packs of batteries or so. Same situations with a lot of other racers at my local track with their dynasty.
Peak has replacement bearings for the motor. I upgraded all mine with ceramic bearings since I had to take them out to replace them anyways so might as well put in the good stuff. Afterall, the motor bearings are the highest reving bearings on the whole car and if you put want to put ceramic bearings on the car, putting it in the motor should make the most difference. I use the motor ceramic bearings from APS racing and they're great! The arm slides into the bearings real snug and fit so I guess that should help too. As for brushes, I use Trinity 4499 thought I heard a lot of praises with Putnam brushes but they're a bit too pricey for my liking. |
Jesse,
shoot me a mail and I'll send you the orion 19T setups. The Orion does make good power, far more than the reedy but not quite as much as a good c2. Mark |
hey mark,
Yeah, I'm lookin to see what everyone else is running on their peak dynasty motors. I'm gonna be running it as a spec motor for the Western Canadian TCS Series. Your input is very welcome.. Jess |
Fantom 315's (same compound as a 767, just more dense) And purple springs. I hand align each hood, and I eyballed some cavities in the brushes. The neg cavity being slightly smaller then the positive. I think the pos cavity is abotu 5/64's and the neg is about 1/16. Then just gear this motor to the moon.
I have also been running a Peak Dynasty V2 version. Been haveing very good luck with it as well. The stock setup out of the box is great. I just keep slapped bigger pinions on it and it keeps getting better. -Korey |
I bought a 19T Dynasty 6 months ago and its the only motor i have used on and off for 6 months....
I suppose i had neglected this motor so i thought it was time for a skimm hehe, opend it up and its in GREAT shape, i cannot belive how well this motor has lasted. its mega quick aswell! No problems with bearings :) |
Thanks guys, Keep it coming, ,,,,I'm like a sponge......
I can keep soaking it up.............:weird: :D Jess |
Reedy 767, orion red-orange +, green -, align hoods, take off leading and trailing edge of brush, hole in neg, constant bearing oil drops(Zubak), purple bulit comm drops. The motor will put down good power, but not like a Team High Velocty C2.:D

When can we get the 19t V2 motors in the states?????
|
I know the power band is way different than the C2 motor. So how should gearing be?.....guess treat it like a torque motor and gear it to the moon?
|
Yes gear to the moon. At rain city a 6.3 final drive is good with rubber tires. Generally I run a 6.8 With a reedy quad mag so you have some comparison. I eneded up with the same ratio as well.
You can get the v2 versions now. They made a limited run of them. They are expensive though. They have the same part number but they have an LE at the end. I'm guessing for limited edition. So far I'm pretty impressed. -Korey |

wow I never knew they were that limited lol.

I have run the Dynasty with V2 endbell......hard springs and sprint brushes with 24 degree of timing. I'm satisfied with it so far.
|
Yeah, thats how mine is setup. Seems to work good.
-Korey |
Limited huh, are you talking about the whole motor. Cuz r/c pro shop (my LHS) has the endbell kits for them. They cost more than the motor its self.........lol

is there a "real" power difference w/ the V2 endbell? I just don't see the gain, besides maybe better efficiency, and the kwel factor
|
good thing about V2,
You dont have to line up bruch hoods...... :) Limited?!? In the UK just about every man and his dog has one...................... |

They do them but after the conversion to dollars it becomes expensive.... £32.99 = $60.00 |

everyone seems quite keen to gear these things to the moon, i run mine at about 5.86, and i holds up fine.
Havent tried those other brushes yet. Do you find that it made much difference to power, or just kept the comm in better shape? |
I bought a Orion Element 19t V2 from Apex about 4 months ago, I believe it would be the same thing as the Peak V2 ?
costed a absolute bucket due to the Pound being so strong against the Aussie dollar, the only other 19t I have is a Trinity chameleon 2 and, on the motor master the V2 pulls slightly more revs, it also feels more balanced, on the track the Trinity has more "Punch", but the V2 feels smoother and higher reving, the run time is fantastic, the com wear on the V2 is minimal, only have to do a cut every 10-20 or so runs and it only requires one pass on the lathe, done three cuts so far and I am still using the original brushes :) I have been told that heavy springs and enduro brushes are the best combo, |
Yes Jesse, it was the entire motor. Since they are not roar legal, Orion/peak only did a limited run of them. I didn't think the v2 system had more rpm, for me it had less than the standard one I have. The brush overlap around the com is smaller than when compared to a laydown brush. That explains the rpm loss, but you also get a cooler running motor with arching, less fade, more torque, and less brush/com wear. The V2 technology even give less com/brush wear. The motor is good, same amount of power, just has a different powerband along with some other benefits.

Thanks guys, all this info is going to prove very usfull for me to help develope a better running motor of this kind.
Jess |
IF you're using the harder springs in the V2 version, would you use the same for laydowns? From what I've seen so far is the use of a softer spring compound. For regular brushes.
|
also, try grey or silver springs w/ a softer brush..all of the fast dynasty's that i have used and seen shared those two common bonds
|
Yeah, from what I heard hard springs are the ticket.

Sushi Boy...
Take back the Rain!!! it's hard to start the outdoor racing season...when it's raining more in N.Cal. than in the Seattle area...    UW alumuni... :D |
NOOOOOOOO It's actually sunny here!!!!!!
|
17*C here in Vancouver today............:D
I will try a few setups on the motor and try them out at our next club race tomorrow:nod: |
just remember gear to the moon!!!!!!!!!! lol
|
Thanks Sushi, I will over Gear it............... :D
|
PERFECT!!!!!!
|
gearing
Sushi,
i ran last night at 5.875. Tall enough!! |
sounds good to me lol.
-Korey |
had a fun run w/ the motor today. Kept gearing up the motor every run and every run it just kept getting better.
We'll have to see how it runns on an EVO4 in a couple of weeks for our first race of the TCS.:sneaky: Got a different power band than the C2 . Not bad though. |
