Too tight - your lanes would end up being extremely small for the space you're using.
go back to MisterCrash's designs - they're much more open while still giving variety in elements.
They're driveable

Your boxes are the same size. . . you just have more of them.
Think OPEN. . .think WIDE LANES. . .

well, I thought I'd post our last 2 layouts. Our track runs Oval, onroad and carpet "offroad" all in one night. Our layouts have to be semi-simple to make the conversion simple and fast. We use 2x4 boards w/ steel connector pieces to connect the 2x4's together.
The circles on the ends of the boards are "weighted" to keep the boards in place when they are bumped.
The circles in the middle of the track are plow disks used as offroad obsticles
The rampls are color coded so when we change track over, the racers know which ramps go where so the track stays the same throughout the night.

See how open that layout is? How uncomplicated, yet with tricky elements?
How he doesn't crowd it with everything that he can think of?

Space is hard when using the program that trackdesigner does. If you make a layout that is less complicated, then due to the program originally being written for mini-z's they look incredibly small. I tried to design mine from my local track and it looked retarded because of the scaling. I wish I could just get open tiles with and go back and just add the barriers.

Yeah it does make it kinda tough. Sometimes you have to decide whether you want a track that flows with a lot of high speed sections, or a track with a lot of tight techinical sections where your driving skill shines through. Of course you could always find a happy medium between the two, like this

Thanks for the compliment. I really wanted to make something that didnt look totally and completely square. There is a way to make those sweepers using those particular materials. If you look at the areas where turns come together, you can actually connect the pipe or wood to allow for those turns to be used.

I wish there was a pgm that used 4 and 8' lengths since that's fairly standard. People just don't have PVC benders or whatever. . . sweepers are made by making a 45deg corner, no pretty curves. Chicanes are made by sticking a board out into a lane. . .
