Nice pics. Will be doing the same when my shorty arrives, hopefully my HW esc will fit as neatly in the slot in front of the LiPo as your ORCA does.

Looks good, read your blog and it looks like you have the same results.
With the packs I have some testing on 3 different packs so far
Reedy 4000 has good punch but drops of at the end
IP 4400 has less punch than the reedy but is consistent
Orca 4500 has more punch than the Reedy and maintained it for the whole run

pack weights
Reedy 202g
Ip 217g
Orca 215g

Hi

I wanted to buy a Sakura XI D.H. But the distributor send me a mail that 3Racing has delivery issues (they work hard on the Drifter ). He offered me a ARC R10 for the price of a XRay T3.
What do you think. Sould i try the ARC or wait for the Sakura?
I drive a blinky 17,5T class.

Greetings

If you have no parts support issue (locally), go for ARC10.

The ARC surely is a tank, if you break something you did a really good job.

I had a tire explode in mod last meeting, it flipped the car at full speed and slid into a metal fence, back in the pits i couldnt believe it wasnt broken, in fact it wasnt even tweaked.

I would however expect it to be cheaper than an Xray, i would expect it to be only marginally more than the Sakura DH

Hm, i think the pricing is ok. And the shop has every part of the ARC in stock.
But what do you think is the better car. The sakura, ARC or maybe the Xray?
My head smokes since two days. :-)

I expect all the cars are fast on the track.

My experience of 3Racing quality is that it is inconsistent. I wouldn't personally pay the premium price they ask for a DH.

The XRAY is a good quality car but they persist with some odd design features - cheap shocks, separate suspension mounts and imbalanced dual-crank steering come to mind.

The ARC is also a very good quality car, and it has the "right" design elements for a modern touring car. I have run mine at a few outdoor/tarmac races now and the out of the box setup is pretty close to perfect. I've tried the flex chassis - and took it off. Also tried a front gear-diff with thick oil - took that off too! Haven't come close to breaking or wearing anything either.

I don't think you would regret the ARC.

I am awaiting delivery of the flex chassis, why didnt you like it?
What motor class and track conditions do you race on?

On the day I tried it, I found that it generated understeer and a lack of precision in the car's response. Race times were slower.

That day was 13.5 boosted on an overcast UK day - track around 20C with Sorex 32s. From now on I'll be running 17.5 Blinky, and to be honest in that class I forgot to do up the top deck screws after a gearing change last week, and I barely noticed a difference!

As with many things in RC I'm fairly cynical about a lot of these extremely fine adjustments that have been introduced for the cars. I doubt the flex chassis would pass a blind test, because the slow times could have been as much a factor of the track and conditions as of the optional part.

Fundamentally I'm very happy with the handling balance on the kit chassis - motor, tyres and driving is where the time is.
