Indeed, I have already gone through all the functions the APS has, hence my comment. :)
The pulse break in is sweet, and so is the RPM sensor (even though it's not a "real" dyno number.)

APS Dyno charger Skins

:ha:
Doe's anyone know were I can order buy some decal/skins for my new APS charger.I like the finish on it right now but for a safety cover it because of the bare metal cover it is made of.
Thanks

I might be able to get someone to make some.

I have had this unit for about one year. I agree it has some useful features, I use the break in, power for motor lathe and dyno. Yes my motors are now faster than before.

I like the way it charges with the heat sensor, my battery temperatures stay very low compared to my novak.

Regarding skins, I think this unit deparately needs a skin. the electronics are very senitive and can be damage easily. be careful not to touch your hot leads to the case. I know that aluminum is not an electrical conductor, but having the case insulated would not hurt. I have wrapped mine with shipping tape. I am overlly cautious now because I have had to send mine back twice because of electronic problems.

happy charging!

Check this place out! They make some wicked custom stuff! You may have to send your charger in for them to get the measurements.

ps: I have the APS unit and I love it! I run it alongside my 2 GFX's as a backup and for motor stuff. I was thinking of getting a skin for mine later!

Anyone know how to get an APS Dyno Charger S3 serviced?

Please share your numbers from your best stock and 19t motors.
I am searching to see if there is a common denominator to fast motors using the APS. (i.e. Amp draw)

I have a CO27 that at 7v has topped 40,000 rpm pulling 6.5-7.5 amps.
It is fast on the track also!!

My best X-stock @7v clocks in at 38,600 rpm pulling 6.3 amps.

Thanks for your replies!!

I put a brand new CO27 on the dyno after a motor run in. I was pulling 13.3 amps at 7v producing 41,000rpm.

The CO27 before that was only about 32,000 with the same voltage and amp draw.

XrayFK 12-14-2006 04:19 PM

CO27 70,000 RPM @7.2v 12A

Scottmisfits 12-14-2006 08:39 PM

Ha ha ha, I'd redo that motor on the dyno. That's just a wee bit high.

No need, it's even faster on the track. Weeee.

If your CO27 can get the results you say that is the best one out. Seriously that is wrong numbers, I get 29K from one and 32K from another. The issue with the CO27 is that it puts out the numbers on the APS dyno but it does not produce the results on the track. So it has been placed in the test motor section of of my gear, It has not worked well for most of the guys that I know have tried it. In 1/10 it is good but in 1/12 it has not proven itself to me....

I am glad that I picked up the APS it is the sweetest charger right after my ICE, both purchased for seperate purposes.
