Well I run 13' T4 and I personally loved the challenge of making weight. I enjoyed it so much that my car used to weigh 1604g. I now weigh in at 1558g and run asphalt every weekend. I love the class for what it was for sure. I feel the weight change wasn't needed and heavier cars usually do drive better. I've never had an issue finding 5000mah batteries. I too will adapt but I really loved the USVTA class I started racing!

Well the only thing left are the battery and motor for the class to be roar legal!!!
Why not just open it up and be done with it!!!???
To be that close and not combine the two is foolish!!!
Just saying!!!!

I've never found it a pain at all - SMC-racing.net usually keeps 5000's in stock for the spec classes that use them.

They offer "Pre-Order" on a lower "C" rated pack too, but like $27.00 (I have 2 of those and they work great -- and are light)

I agree that it's not a big deal to find 5000s but some people have cried about this for years. I guess im getting soft.

Why start a motor war when 25.5 motors are just starting to be made to ROAR spec? Maybe wait a hot minute and see what shakes out with ROAR 25.5 motors and then once they have been around for a while they can be opened up.....after people have had time using the 25.5 motors in other classes to "weed" out the "fast" motor. OR just open the door and force people to buy 5-6 motors until the "fast" one is a known commodity? I think sticking with Novak one more year or so might not be a bad idea.....just saying.

Any idea what will happen if HPI goes under? A good majority of the spec bodies and the spec VTA tires may become hard to get.

#1 nobody says you have to run a 6000. Can you demonstrate there will be a huge performance advantage when any battery is not going to get anywhere near even 1/2 of it's capacity? In most cases, not even 1/3? Modified races are being run with 5000 packs. They may have reasons why they do this, but they finish races.
#2 what car are you running? If its not a TC4 then this change should help you in that you will not need to mount a ton of lead on the car. The main reason for the change is that there is less and less real estate to get lead on the car. As I posted before, I have held the line on the weight for a long time, but not everyone is running a tub car. There are a lot of used plate cars on the track, and they count as well. For that matter, The Tamiya series races GT3 tub only 21.5 motor class places the weight limit at 1450g. That is a class for plastic cars only.

So did anyone buy HPI, or are they left to their own devices? I see their USA HQ building up for lease.

I've out run every other roar approved motor out there and I won't run anything else.
Right now it seems like the USVTA organization is falling apart!!
When you can't get people their numbers and have to refund their money, you have a serious problem as an organization.
Just saying!!!!
