was given a set of these gravitys to try out vs the protos. Should be testing here soon. Still really cold and wet here. I can tell u I really like the feel of the tire and rubber. They seem nice.

This seems to be a common theme these days, Everyone thinks rules don’t apply to them!

Maybe people like spending $120 a motor for each new race season.

Well for someone who maybe just recently bought one of these (apparently vastly superior) new 25.5T motors for VTA, that news just means they threw money out the window - not everybody has to be happy about that, right?

Interesting part is the wheels are PF or Gravity only.

Motor rules doesn't go into effect until 7/1/2024. Also, at least one person on this thread helped with testing the new spec motor (not me).

Which is only 6 months away. If it was me, I'd be pissed if I had just bought a new motor and now needed to buy another motor soon - so i understand if someone is unhappy. I have no horse in this race, we don't have USVTA over here, so I'm not commenting on the rules themselves. Our only VTA class here uses totally different motors (and gearing).

Which is why the implementation date being pushed out is a smart move. Immediate rule change generally pisses off people, me included. At least this gives people time to use up their existing stuff (6 months is plenty), improves inventory flow thru so everyone has time to get one.

I've gotten rid of my PF tires and have another set to get rid of. Ultimately the track decides if they want to follow the rule format or not (some midwest tracks including mines don't use a driver figure). No one is holding a gun to your head.

I am one of those people. My used Hobbywing finally burned up, so I bought a new MC5 for this class. I'm not too pleased about the change, and I agree w/most of the criticisms of spec motors. But it is what it is, and as long as we're still racing, it's fine.

HPI VTA wheels are also legal.

Thers more to this story on a local level, I just bought a usgt spec gravity motor, worked pretty good, even though I’d just bought 2. New 21.motors, they can be used in 21.5 TC

as far as usgt or usvta rules are there for a purpose and should be adhered to, To just flaunt the rules is bullshit and normal for the new Generation of racers who don’t agree and think they don’t apply to them!

Nobody here is saying to disregard their track and/or race rules. They're disagreeing w/a specific rule change, and their arguments have merit. It's not that hard to understand. Blaming "the new Generation" tells me exactly where your head is at.

I can only find the change in rules on www.racevta.com

Is www.racevta.com considered the official go to for VTA rules?
