Cant wait for the birds! Just a little FYI. Any guys driving down from up North to FL if you want to get a little extra practice on a subfloor/new carpet track on the way down Thunder RC will be having their warm up race the 29th. Alexander Hagberg will be here for a few days as well getting some track time. If anyone is interested shoot me a PM.

Hello everyone! Great to see the excitement brewing for the 2012 race. We are very excited and this is shaping up to be one the biggest in years. WOW!

Pitting information will be posted soon. We might have an additional area opening this year for racers coming in... and a first-come first-serve area in the ballroom hallway (near the concession stand). Don't worry if you are racing we will find a spot somewhere!

Happy New Year!

Ill be flying down from Chicago with all of my equipment for the race, does anyone know if the airlines allow lipos?? First time flying with all of my equip. would hate to trash my lipos when I arrive at the airport, and they have a problem letting them in their cargo hold.

You must carry them on in your carry on. Do NOT put them in your checked bags or they will take them.

Thanks for the info Would you suggest anything, as far as my checked in baggage (regarding my equip.) as I will be using my roller hauler bag as "baggage". I'm going to fill all the voids in my hauler bag with those foam peanuts, as I know how the baggage handlers can get ruff with stuff.

Thanks for the advice, as I was going to originally put the lipos in my checked baggage.

This is what I use and it has been going for about 6 years. It flies about 4-6 times a year and goes to the track every time I go. Its the most durable thing I have found that the airlines cant break! Plus its super light weight so it doesnt eat up your poundage. I would never use a good hauler bag...they will get tore up. Its usually the zippers they rip off trying to open them.

If you read the TSA / Flight info on Lipo's you get one per electronic device in it and a spare. I put one in each car and a spare. Did have to make a car work once leaving Denver. But the radio and cars are in my carry on. I use two of the smaller Action Packers with TSA locks and they get checked everytime, but if you make it easy to open, and re-pack, I've not had anything removed or broken. I would not use peanuts, but something easy to put back in.

I've also shipped stuff to Snowbirds which worked as well, but if you fly SouthWest, no bag fee if you keep it under 50#, no cost. Based on where I live, flying happens 8-10 times a year.
