FDR= Final Drive Ratio

Spur divided by pinion times internal gear ratio = FDR

Your owners manual should tell you what your car's drive train interal gear ratio is.

Example Associated's TC6 is 2.0

Example 90/50x2= 3.6 FDR

Oh, Ok. Thank you so much.
I am new in this stuff, still learning.
I will take a look at my manual book.
Thanks.

You're welcome. There is an Android and I believe an Iphone app to calculate FDR for you, look into it. I have the Android app called gears that is ideal for quick gear ratio calculations. I believe it was free also.

Default Gearing

Thanks, I know my internal ratio gearing for my Tamiya TA05 V2 is 2.055.
I will try to change the spur gear to 90T let see what is the speed and the temp.

so i will be ordering a reedy sonic 17.5 in a couple days ive been running tekin for awhile now and my dad just got one of these motors and i like it a lot so im gonna get one now so my question is, how do these motors accept timing? like do they do well with a lot of timing added or do they work better with less timing? i already know about temps and gearing and all that so this is my only question about it. thanks

Skiddins

Put me on the list of wanting a replaceable stator.
I "found the limit" of my 10.5 this weekend.
Why is boost such an evil temptress.

I burned my 5.0 Reedy. Since they don't sell the stator separately I would like to know if the Thunder Power stator from a ZR3 S would fit?

Thanks for any info!

I would like to know if the rotor that comes with the 17.5 has the most torque? Or is there one that has more???? Looking for more torque.

As far as ROAR legal rotors for stock, it comes with the biggest rotor (most torque). If you dont care about ROAR legality, you can run a mod rotor for more torque.

I bought one hardly used 7.5t today (after getting the possibility to test it) and I am absolutly fascinated of the low running temperatures this motor has in comparison to my X12 7.5t. It was at least 10-20°C cooler (same setup) and I it lasted 14 minutes on a large outdoor track until my 5500 Reedy battery gave up.
Our clubraces are always 15 minutes and I was totally surprised that I nearly made it while driving as hard as I could and having better laptimes than the 9.5t setup. I love it!

Could someone explain the difference in half and full turn motors? ie.. 4.0, 4.5. Better power delivery? Smoother? Or just more power with no real difference.

Supposedly but mine didn't. Mine measured 12.4 X 24.5. Bought the largest legal replacement, it measures 12.51 x 25.2. There seems to be quite a lot of variance in manufacturing.
